Medication Reminders
Though our caregivers cannot administer medications, they can provide regular reminders for oral medications or injections, and can assist with pre-measured medication and the monitoring of side effects or other medical issues. Meal Preparation
Often, many seniors fail to get adequate nutrition simply because of the bother of preparing a meal and cleaning up afterwards. A FirstLight HomeCare caregiver can prepare regular meals that maintain a healthy diet, provide sufficient nutrition for the application of medicines and simply add joy and comfort to a senior’s day. Plus, our caregivers handle all the clean up.
Light Housekeeping
Speaking of cleaning up …FirstLight HomeCare caregivers provide vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, organizing and tidying rooms, closets and drawers, and the thorough cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms. A tidy home is a happier, more comfortable home, and FirstLight HomeCare is here to help!
Laundry Services
Our caregivers wash, dry, fold, iron and put away clothing, bed linens and towels for our clients. This one service alone can save time and physical exertion and prove to be a boon for those who have trouble moving around, have joint or other pain or who tire easily.
Shopping, Errands and Transportation
Some of the most common needs of those who want to maintain independence at home includes having to get groceries or prescriptions or dry cleaning. Our FirstLight HomeCare caregivers can provide these services directly, including shopping at specific stores for a client’s favorite or needed items. They can also provide incidental transportation for our clients who would like to run errands and socialize, all while insuring the client’s well-being.
Recreational Activities
Our caregivers will take a client to a favorite activity – perhaps a nature class, bingo or a concert – or are happy to join in a game of cards or Scrabble. In fact, through our ClientFirst matching system, FirstLight HomeCare helps match specific caregivers to your loved one’s interests and habits.
Mail and Paperwork Organization
FirstLight HomeCare helps seniors keep track of bills and other important documents and takes care of the clutter by organizing mail and paperwork around the home. And, at the direction of our clients, our caregivers will assist with opening and reading mail.
Live-In Services
In certain situations, clients and their families may elect to have regular care maintained from a caregiver residing in the home. FirstLight HomeCare is committed to providing these needed resources on a temporary or more permanent basis.
24-Hour Care

Family Respite Care
