In collaboration with Gentle Hearts Living Solutions<\/a>, Ancora Hospice<\/a>, and Life Changes Elder Care Consulting, LLC<\/a>, the event created a meaningful space to connect, learn, and strengthen relationships within our healthcare community. With engaging conversation, shared knowledge, and of course great food, it was a wonderful reminder of how collaboration helps us better serve our clients and families every day. This initiative is designed to empower older adults with practical knowledge, resources, and confidence to navigate the next chapter of life with purpose and independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIn March, FirstLight helped host \u201cSo You\u2019re Retired, Now What?\u201d,<\/strong> a session focused on helping seniors transition into retirement with clarity and intention. The discussion covered topics such as finding renewed purpose, staying socially connected, maintaining physical and mental wellness, and exploring meaningful ways to stay engaged in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIn April, the focus shifted to National Healthcare Decisions Day<\/strong> awareness with a session on advanced directives. This important conversation encouraged seniors and their families to proactively plan for future healthcare decisions, understand legal documents such as living wills and healthcare proxies, and ensure their wishes are clearly communicated and respected. Through this experience, she has developed a deep appreciation for service, sacrifice, and the importance of strong support systems\u2014values she carries into her work every day. Her personal and professional experience allows her to build meaningful connections not only with clients, but with caregivers as well. We recently had a wonderful time coming together for our latest caregiver meeting! These gatherings are always a great opportunity to connect, share updates, and continue growing as a team dedicated to providing the highest quality care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the meeting, we reviewed important new policies and updates to ensure everyone feels informed, supported, and confident in their roles. Ongoing education is a key part of what we do, and we were able to spend time on training that helps strengthen skills, improve communication, and enhance the care we provide to our clients every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
