Katy was willing to complete extra training just to work with these wounded warriors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Originally from Illinois, Katy received her Home Care Aide license after taking care of her husband when he sustained injuries in the military.\u00a0 She and her husband have lived in Thurston County since 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Lane added that Katy quickly gains the trust and her clients and their families rave about her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKaty knows my needs and matches my personality,\u201d said Chris, one of Katy\u2019s clients. \u201cShe is an absolute angel and it feels like we are old friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u200b\u200bKaty, who has two daughters, said that being a caregiver is a rewarding experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile I believe all of us who work in caregiving love making a difference in peoples\u2019 lives,\u201d she explained, \u201cI personally feel each one of my clients help me more than I help them.\u00a0 Each one brings something different that not only helps me be a better caregiver, but a better person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations, Katy, and thank you for all you do for our clients and their families!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FirstLight Home Care \u2013 South Sound is thrilled to announce that Katy Romero has been named our 2016 Caregiver of the Year!
