Create Your Account in the Guardian Portal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Visit the Guardian Applicant Portal at <a>guardian.dss.ca.gov\/Applicant<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdss.ca.gov\/inforesources\/community-care\/home-care-services\/home-care-aide-application-process?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ccld.dss.ca.gov+3California Department of Social Services+3ccld.dss.ca.gov+3<\/a><br>Click <strong>\u201cRegister as a new user\u201d<\/strong>, complete the required information and submit. Fill Out the Application<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once logged in, start your Home Care Aide (HCA) registration application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When prompted for a PIN:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are registering as a<strong> FirstLight Homecare, Parkway home care aide<\/strong>, use the PIN <strong><strong>YKS5L4<\/strong><\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdss.ca.gov\/inforesources\/community-care\/home-care-services\/home-care-aide-application-process?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">California Department of Social Services<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your personal and contact information, as prompted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Pay the Registration Fee<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A registration fee is required. For example, online applications require $35.00 via debit or credit card. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdss.ca.gov\/inforesources\/community-care\/home-care-services\/home-care-aide-application-process?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">California Department of Social Services+1<\/a><br>Keep the receipt or a screenshot for your records. **Reimbursement may be possible upon 90 days of providing care to our clients**<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Complete the Live Scan (Fingerprint &amp; Background Check)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After application submission you must complete a criminal background check via Live Scan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From your Guardian account, download the pre-filled \u201cCDSS Live Scan Form.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take that form to an authorized Live Scan vendor in your county. You\u2019ll be fingerprinted and the results will be sent to California Department of Social Services (CDSS). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait for your background check to clear. Status options will include \u201cIn Process,\u201d \u201cEligible,\u201d or \u201cNot Eligible.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Monitor Your Application &amp; Registry Status<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once everything is submitted, CDSS will review your application, fee payment and background check. When approved, your name will be listed on the Home Care Aide Registry and you will then be associated as a Home Care Aide with FirstLight Homecare, Parkway.<br>You can check the status of your application by logging into your Guardian account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Renewal &amp; Ongoing Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your HCA registration must be renewed every <strong>two years<\/strong>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are responsible for keeping your contact information updated.
