If it\u2019s a medical emergency, call 911 or go to an emergency room right away! Make sure to tell the doctor that your injury happened at work.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Report the injury <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">promptly to your client and your employer, if you work for an agency or company.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Talk to your client or agency <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to figure out how you can <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">make your workplace safe <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to prevent future illnesses or injuries.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Find help<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Find out if you\u2019re eligible for workers\u2019 compensation that can cover medical care and some lost work time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ask your employer <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">for information <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">about the benefits <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">you may be entitled to.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Contact your union<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, if you have one. Your union might also be able to provide information about any benefits you might be entitled to.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can contact <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Workers\u2019 Compensation office <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in your state. Look in the front of your phone book for State Government pages. Look for a listing for Workers\u2019 Compensation.
