Mr. Roberts has extensive managerial and health care experience and has earned a MS in Education and an MBA. He started his carrier as a Medical Specialist (Combat Medic) in the U.S. Army, worked in Assisted Living Facilities and as an Insurance Physical Technician. He has held managerial positions at Delta Air Lines, CA Air National Guard and a local private college. The demands of the Air National Guard called him away from the private sector to complete several successful deployments to South East Asia. With the need for his services winding down in that part of the world Larry decided to return to his true passion of helping people.
The best way Mr. Roberts found to help people was to become a Senior Advisor and to open a First Light Home Care franchise in the South Bay. First Light Home Care of South Bay assists the local communities by providing in-home non-medical care to seniors or anyone over the age of eighteen. Their services include companion care, personal care, dementia care, veteran and surviving spouse assistance, case management, readmission rescue, financial consultations and referrals, appointment transportation and travel companionship, as well as, assisting with the aging process and caregiver education.
New Resource Available for South Bay and Peninsula Area Seniors in Home Care
The need for educated professionals able to cater to the unique health, social and financial needs of seniors grows as the Baby Boomers reach retirement age, and improvements in healthcare allow people to live longer. Senior Advisors have received a unique education and training that compliments their professional skills to better serve the growing senior demographic.
South Bay and Peninsula area seniors now have a new resource to assist them in the aging process. Larry Roberts, owner of First Light Home Care of South Bay, completed a comprehensive course through the Society of Certified Senior Advisors® (SCSA) and earned the certification of Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)®. This in conjunction with 15 years of experience in Medical and non Medical field’s means that seniors and their families now have a resource they can rely on to meet their In Home Care needs.
“I have always tried to help people whenever I could, which is why I opened First Light Home Care in the South Bay. There is an explosive growth in the senior population. People are living longer, which means the need for skilled professionals able to serve the senior population is also growing. This demographic shift requires an educated response in how professionals work with seniors and a greater ability to address the challenges and opportunities seniors face. This explosion, unfortunately, is bringing along with it a significant increase of dementia. With the dedication, training and ethical standards we at First Light Home Care have, we are a significant asset to the community and your loved ones.” Larry Roberts
