FirstLight Caregivers Receive Advanced Dementia Certification

Caregivers at FirstLight Home Care — South Sound are continually taking training in addition to what’s required for their CNA or HCA licenses by the State of Washington.

FirstLight caregivers can become certified in:

• Dementia Care — Training that teaches about the different stages of Alzheimer’s disease, and techniques to manage, communicate with, and deal with behaviors of, a person with memory loss.
• Advanced Dementia Care — This training program provides different care strategies associated with Alzheimer’s disease and teaches meaningful activities, medication administration and behavior management when caring for person’s with dementia.
