First light took care of my ex husband as assigned by the VA but I was involved since kids live out of state. They were very responsive and always available to talk. They did their best to provide care givers he liked which was sometimes a problem (his problem) due to him having dementia and trying to refuse care. All were helpful and courteous whenever I was there at same time. He often tried to refuse care so sometimes I had to be the “bad guy” and tell him we are not taking no for an answer and then usually he would participate

First Light is a wonderful company that provides professionalism and wonderful caregivers offering variety of different care for the patient. Jaden, my caregiver that I have is very professional and does anything that I ask. Their service provides multiple of different task, offering cleaning, mopping, sorting, laundry, cooking, running to the store, fetching food. We have been clients of FirstLight for about 5 months and with our current caregiver Jaden for a little over a month. Jaden has been fantastic! She is great at communicating schedule needs, letting me know how the day went, and ensuring all the regular house chores are completed. She is very attentive to Mr. HC and I’m able to concentrate at work knowing he is being well cared. Being a primary caregiver isn’t easy and I’m very thankful to have Jaden as a part of “my team.” Mr. HC also enjoys Jaden’s company, even though his health hasn’t been the best since they’ve met she has helped him take a shower more regularly, and he is much more engaged on the days she has been able to come see him. When asked if he likes having Jaden over he always gives an enthusiastic “yes” and today when asked what he likes about her he said “everything!”
Firstlight of Northern Kentucky has been a wonderful agency to work with. The VA assigned another company that only showed up one time. The VA then assigned our case to FirstLight. Kennedy appeared at our door on Nov. 16, 2022 and we have been happy with her ever since.
Kennedy is a horse person. Rich was raised in Maderia OH and rode horses most of his youth. That connection alone made the transition to respite care and someone else in our home, easy for Rich! They are true friends and companions.
Kennedy has been a blessing to me as well. Not only do I feel confident that Rich is safe with her, while I am away. But she is so helpful in completing household tasks.
If we ever do not need Kennedy’s respite care, i have gained a kind friend forever.
Melanie has been with us for several weeks and has done GREAT! She helps out with every prescribed need for daily care and finds extra things to do when we are settled into our daily routine.
We had to try a couple different workers until FirstLight sent Chuck Fitchen to help us. He is definitely an asset to your company and to the Lampke family. He is very accommodating to our needs. Hope he will stay around.
