First Light has been a blessing to our family. They have worked so hard to meet our needs for my dear daddy who has passed, and now for my elderly cousin, both veterans. Emmalee Barnes has been one of several caregivers who has fit in, … More perfectly. She goes above and beyond to help with our family needs and is engaging and kind to her clients. We feel comfortable leaving her with our dearest treasures—our elderly—and with our pets and our home, as well. She does everything we ask of her, plus some.
The office staff does its best to match us up with great people and to work around our schedules, as well. They keep us informed if any changes need to be made, too!
Tonya Smith and Rustin Wonn have been the ones to come for evaluations and have been amazing! We love both of them!!

My dad loves her, and that says everything. She speaks to him with such warmth and tenderness, and she always makes sure he feels comfortable, safe, and cared for. As his daughter and primary caregiver, having someone I can fully trust with him brings me so much peace.
She is also so respectful and caring toward me and our entire family. Her presence brings comfort into our home, and she never makes us feel like we are just another job to her. You can truly tell she has a heart for what she does.

I have been a client of Marah Henderson for the last several months. She helps … More me buy groceries and helps with my household chores like changing bed linens, vacuuming and sweeping floors. She also cleans the bathroom and kitchen. I don't know what l would do without her. I am 90 years old with several health problems. She helps me with the things that I can't do anymore, and she listens my boring stories. Even when I repeat the same story she acts as though it was the first time she heard it. Our experience with the first several initial caregivers First Light sent out was a very rough experience. It's a lot like dating except you have to pay for each of the not great matches. She is compassionate, knowledgable and attentive in her care for my dad and both my parents feel at ease trusting her to come into their home.
She has been working with us for 1 year this September. I'm very grateful for her dedication, there's a lot of not so caring caregivers. Shirley is certainly one of the good one's that helps restores your faith in humanity during a time of vulnerability and hardship. -

FirstLight has been a part of our family for over a year now. They have sent some amazing people to help out with my father. At the beginning we needed someone to help with meals and light houskeeping. He is an older gentleman who still … More gets around but is slowly losing his sight. Our needs quickly progressed as a mishap during surgery left him with an ostomy. We are so blessed to have Kim C. helping us out. She fixes him meals and does light houskeeping. She has a daily chart of housekeeping needs but will find other ways to help when time permits. One of his loves is crossword puzzles but he can no longer see to fill them out. She sits with him and reads the clues and fills in the answers. It brings him so much joy and helps keep his mind sharp. Kim has become a part of the family and I hope she knows how much we appreciate her. FirstLight has been great to work with and is helping to make this difficult season of life a little brighter. -

‼️ Warning.. LONG POST: We are very grateful for FirstLight and the care provided for our father who has macular degeneration and has/is recovering from a bad surgery about a year ago. Kim C. is his weekly caregiver and she helps make him … More delicious meals, found a way to help him do his favorite activities again, and has even helped with ostomy care. She caught and helped fix a drain problem. She also helps him get to his appointments (which can take all day). And so much more. Emiley A. helps during the weekend and she helps to keep him moving, which is important, and helps get him outside (weather permitting) to have a change of view. Melissa G. is an amazing sub when the others need someone to help. She comes in, assesses what needs to get done and does it. She notices extra things like his yard needing watered and did it. She replaced some of his burnt out light bulbs. He absolutely loves having these 3 ladies at the house. They have made him feel comfortable, cared for, and help him do things he wouldn’t normally do by himself. They help us make sure his house is in order, which saves us time. We appreciate knowing he is cared for and that allows us to do the things we need to do without worry. ‼️ Warning.. LONG POST: We are very grateful for FirstLight and the care provided for our father who has macular degeneration and has/is recovering from a bad surgery about a year ago. Kim C. is his weekly caregiver and she helps make him delicious meals, found a way to help him do his favorite activities again, and has even helped with ostomy care. She caught and helped fix a drain problem. She also helps him get to his appointments (which can take all day). And so much more. Emiley A. helps during the weekend and she helps to keep him moving, which is important, and helps get him outside (weather permitting) to have a change of view. Melissa G. is an amazing sub when the others need someone to help. She comes in, assesses what needs to get done and does it. She notices extra things like his yard needing watered and did it. She replaced some of his burnt out light bulbs. He absolutely loves having these 3 ladies at the house. They have made him feel comfortable, cared for, and help him do things he wouldn’t normally do by himself. They help us make sure his house is in order, which saves us time. We appreciate knowing he is cared for and that allows us to do the things we need to do without worry. No words are enough to express how grateful we are for the loving, helpful, quality care for our dad. Thank you to those ladies and all the others and Thank you FirstLight.

Sam was super helpful in explaining how their service worked over the phone. When we realized the company did not take my mom’s insurance, she gave me three other names of home healthcare that does take my mom’s insurance. That way I could check out something that would affordable for my mother. Sam really seemed interested that we get the help we need and not just that they get the business. That’s five stars in my book!
I have been with firstlight for about 2 months and my aide Clover Fields came in like a part of our family and was very helpful with alot of the daily work. She has truly went above and beyond. Having been with many home health agencies, I can tell firstlight that miss Clover is a godsend. Don’t know what I would do without her kind caring professionalism.

I have associated my family with FirstLight Home Care for about 2 years! My husband has Dementia along with other illnesses. Both of us are very skeptical about people in our home, not to speak of helping with bathes. My husband was rejecting everybody that came through our door talking about bathing him. I was encouraged by FirstLight not to give up, the staff was very diligent with the search!! We were introduced to Ray, very polite & helpful he reminds us of our Grandson’s coming to help Grandpa. Ray has been a great addition to our loyal team of worker’s. Our newest helper, Jennifer, fits right in very respectful and a great worker, very concerned about our needs. Last but not least is Clover, she has been with us the longest, shes very efficient and intentional as a helper. Each worker has their own day of the week to assist us! During all the unfortunate stages of illnesses which can leave the spouse tired, frustrated, the house smelly and in disarray, our Loyal Workers leave our house as a HOME fresh smelling & orderly!! As the wife, I am encouraged to do something for myself! To be able to trust and let your heart lay down while non-family are caring for your LOVED ONE IS A BLESSING!!

The First Light Home Care agency has been great to work with in caring for my WWII veteran dad,Joshua Roberson Jr. They have hired some excellent and caring workers that allow my 95yr old mother and 100yr old father to remain in their own home. The agency has also been great in managing last minute,holiday or unexpected issues in providing care.
Janice Wade and Temica Larkins have been their primary caregivers during the past year and these two dynamic and trusted ladies go above and beyond their duties! My parents consider them family!

I want to give a huge shout out and thank you to my dad’s aide, Sierra Staley. She was with us until he passed away, and gave him the absolute BEST care! My dad just adored, Sierra, as we all did. Whether it was dealing with the struggles of caring for a dying man, or just being there to listen to our rants and tears, her ethics and shining light never changed. Anyone would be beyond blessed to have Sierra care for their loved one.
I have had Adrienne as a caregiver for sometime . She is so helpful and has greatly improved my quality of life . I’m very thankful for her and all of the team at first light .
Our experience with the first several initial caregivers First Light sent out was a very rough experience. It’s a lot like dating except you have to pay for each of the not great matches. It took us a while before we finally met Shirley Little. She is compassionate, knowledgable and attentive in her care for my dad and both my parents feel at ease trusting her to come into their home.
She has been working with us for 1 year this September. I’m very grateful for her dedication, there’s a lot of not so caring caregivers. Shirley is certainly one of the good one’s that helps restores your faith in humanity during a time of vulnerability and hardship.
Jennifer Birmingham has been a God send! She’s an awesome caretaker.
I have had several caregivers. Clover Fields is always happy and cheerful every time she comes. Clover goes above and beyond to make sure I am safe and helps my wife so much with the outdoor and inside cleaning. She has been a great addition with help.
Kellie is a servant at heart who is willing to do anything to help. She is cheerful and postive and brings her “A Game” everyday, Terry loves her as she laughs at his jokes. WE enjoy her smile and genuine care for each of us.
Melissa Gammel, is a crazy nut. The day we met it was like we had known each other for years. We get along extremely well and she has been a big help to me. I may adopt her as my new daughter.
Mary, my home care aid is excellent at knowing her job and doing it well. She is professional and very patient.
I’ve worked for FirstLight home care for 3 years, as a caregiver and now in the office. The staff is amazing and work so hard at providing quality care for clients and employees. They have went above and beyond to make sure clients are satisfied and caregivers are taken care of. This company does a lot for employees and clients. Not only would I recommend someone to work here, I would hire them for personal care for myself or my family!
I have been a client for 2 years and 1 year ago Shanna Harrington started being my caregiver. She has been helping me as far as going to my va appointments, helping with my care and health. So appreciate all she does for me.

For the 3 years I have been with the first light then two years later, I’d switch my caregiver to Shanna HARRINGTON which she has done an outstanding job, which I am very pleased with her for the last One years since I have had her. everything I have asked her and more and took it up on her self to do extra.
I have had the privilege of coming in contact with several employees of this establishment and each one of them are amazing! (Will, Emily, Peggy, Sylvester to name a few) Each of them are genuine to say the least. Today I met the office manager Tiara and once again I am so impressed! The way each employee represents the company and how they interact makes me feel like this is the place I would want my family around if I should ever need their services. FirstLight has been a part of our family for over a year now. They have sent some amazing people to help out with my father. At the beginning we needed someone to help with meals and light houskeeping. He is an older gentleman who still gets around but is slowly losing his sight. Our needs quickly progressed as a mishap during surgery left him with an ostomy. We are so blessed to have Kim C. helping us out. She fixes him meals and does light houskeeping. She has a daily chart of housekeeping needs but will find other ways to help when time permits. One of his loves is crossword puzzles but he can no longer see to fill them out. She sits with him and reads the clues and fills in the answers. It brings him so much joy and helps keep his mind sharp. Kim has become a part of the family and I hope she knows how much we appreciate her. FirstLight has been great to work with and is helping to make this difficult season of life a little brighter.

started care with them for my Aunt on Friday and have been very impressed so far. In particular, Tanesa and Alice were the weekend staff that helped and they were both wonderful. Both my aunt and mom are very independent women and will mostly try to do things for themselves before asking anyone and both staff were very much “see a need, fill a need” kind of help.
‼️ Warning.. LONG POST: We are very grateful for FirstLight and the care provided for our father who has macular degeneration and has/is recovering from a bad surgery about a year ago. Kim C. is his weekly caregiver and she helps make him delicious meals, found a way to help him do his favorite activities again, and has even helped with ostomy care. She caught and helped fix a drain problem. She also helps him get to his appointments (which can take all day). And so much more. Emiley A. helps during the weekend and she helps to keep him moving, which is important, and helps get him outside (weather permitting) to have a change of view. Melissa G. is an amazing sub when the others need someone to help. She comes in, assesses what needs to get done and does it. She notices extra things like his yard needing watered and did it. She replaced some of his burnt out light bulbs. He absolutely loves having these 3 ladies at the house. They have made him feel comfortable, cared for, and help him do things he wouldn’t normally do by himself. They help us make sure his house is in order, which saves us time. We appreciate knowing he is cared for and that allows us to do the things we need to do without worry. No words are enough to express how grateful we are for the loving, helpful, quality care for our dad. Thank you to those ladies and all the others and Thank you FirstLight.

I have been employed with the company for approximately five months and have found the staff and overall work environment to be highly satisfactory. The company fosters a positive and supportive work culture, as evidenced by the exceptional staff appreciation event I recently attended.
Sam was super helpful in explaining how their service worked over the phone. When we realized the company did not take my mom’s insurance, she gave me three other names of home healthcare that does take my mom’s insurance. That way I could check out something that would affordable for my mother. Sam really seemed interested that we get the help we need and not just that they get the business. That’s five stars in my book!
I have been with firstlight for about 2 months and my aide Clover Fields came in like a part of our family and was very helpful with alot of the daily work. She has truly went above and beyond. Having been with many home health agencies, I can tell firstlight that miss Clover is a godsend. Don’t know what I would do without her kind caring professionalism.
We’ve had Arianna as a caregiver for my husband Leonard for over a year now and we appreciate everything she does for us! She goes above and beyond what’s asked of her and has become like family.
I have associated my family with FirstLight Home Care for about 2 years! My husband has Dementia along with other illnesses. Both of us are very skeptical about people in our home, not to speak of helping with bathes. My husband was rejecting everybody that came through our door talking about bathing him. I was encouraged by FirstLight not to give up, the staff was very diligent with the search!! We were introduced to Ray, very polite & helpful he reminds us of our Grandson’s coming to help Grandpa. Ray has been a great addition to our loyal team of worker’s. Our newest helper, Jennifer, fits right in very respectful and a great worker, very concerned about our needs. Last but not least is Clover, she has been with us the longest, shes very efficient and intentional as a helper. Each worker has their own day of the week to assist us! During all the unfortunate stages of illnesses which can leave the spouse tired, frustrated, the house smelly and in disarray, our Loyal Workers leave our house as a HOME fresh smelling & orderly!! As the wife, I am encouraged to do something for myself! To be able to trust and let your heart lay down while non-family are caring for your LOVED ONE IS A BLESSING!!

Julie Ford a caregiver with First Light Home Care has worked for us for a little over a year. She is currently working 12 hours 5-6 days a week. Julie is an excellent caregiver and we feel lucky to have her.

Our caregiver Toni W. was amazing. She went well above and beyond to help my parents with their computer problems and happily completed every task we ask her to do. She even did a number of things without being asked. She gets 2 thumbs up. Firstlight got a gem when they hired her.

I am comfortable with leaving them with my husband so I can take a minute to get things done. The First Light Home Care agency has been great to work with in caring for my WWII veteran dad,Joshua Roberson Jr. They have hired some excellent and caring workers that allow my 95yr old mother and 100yr old father to remain in their own home. The agency has also been great in managing last minute,holiday or unexpected issues in providing care.
Janice Wade and Temica Larkins have been their primary caregivers during the past year and these two dynamic and trusted ladies go above and beyond their duties! My parents consider them family!
