Extraordinary People. Exceptional Care
Providing The Best In-Home Care, Elderly Care & Senior Care
No one knows your loved ones better than you, which is why FirstLight dedicates time at the beginning of our relationship to listening. We have the same goal: allow your loved one the ability to have a high quality of life and as much independence as they can during the late stages of our time here. We also speak to your loved one to create a complete picture, giving us the ability to be able to create a comfortable system of senior care and companion care in Charleston, Mt. Pleasant and surrounding cities. We take pains to make sure you are aware of every step, and give ample room for you to be involved as you like. Making sure you have peace of mind is important to us, as well as giving your loved one the same care you would give yourself.
Here are some of the ways that we can help:
How Can Home Care from FirstLight Benefit My Loved One?
We make sure your loved one has in-home care that deals with the day-to-day reality of non-medical treatment. Maybe they need help cleaning or cooking, or want assistance with laundry or bathing. FirstLight Home Care also helps with toileting and continence care, with eating and mobility aid too. All is done according to the short or long-term goals set by you, and we are around to help twenty four hours a day, every day of the year.
There is no set age to when senior care and companion care can start – we make sure we are available whenever your loved one begins requesting assistance in their Charleston home. We provide comprehensive home care or even just help as it is needed, as well as give specialized attention to ongoing illnesses or conditions. We also offer home care to anyone who needs an extra hand, whether they are new moms, military families, or those recovering from recent surgery.
Why Home Care, and Not a Nursing Home?
We strongly believing in helping people maintain their independence for as long as possible- home care provides the best atmosphere for personal agency and freedom. People are able to make their own timetable and have a greater degree of flexibility at home than in a center. It also provides an enriching emotional atmosphere, and helps to ward off the possibility of depression or anxiety that sometimes happens when someone begins living in a senior’s home.
In no way are we against traditional nursing homes, though, and we send our caregivers to retirement homes and assisted living centers as well as to private homes. We want to be a support for you and your loved one, no matter where they live. We can help with going to the doctor or doing errands as well as accompanying them to favorite parks or cafes.
