A Personalized, Engaging Approach to Dementia Care
For Any Stage of Dementia, Including Alzheimer’s Disease
FirstLight Home Care of Dothan, Enterprise, and Ozark has taken the time to meet our clients’ needs by developing a dementia care and elderly care plan to help people suffering with dementia or Alzheimer’s cope with anxiety, depression, confusion, and isolation, all of which have been associated with the disease. The unique programs for dementia care are formulated to address the things often associated with the disease, and help not only the dementia sufferer, but also the family.
The stage of dementia does not define the client. We understand that each dementia client has their own personality and not one dementia client is alike. We treat each of our clients as individuals, while taking the time to learn their personalities and not simply guessing what their behavior should be based on their dementia stage.
Person-First Dementia Care
FirstLight Home Care of Dothan, Enterprise, and Ozark has developed its unique Dementia Care and Elderly Care Program based on the importance of building dementia care around the individual and not the disease. Our plan incorporates who they are and who they will grow into. The plan is personalized and engaging, where our goal is to make sure those affected by the disease live their lives with purpose.
Each client will receive a “Who I Am” booklet developed to learn more about the individual. This book will not only ask for history information, but instead dig deeper so we can understand the things that complete your loved ones. Here is a sample of questions:
- What makes you happy?
- What makes you laugh?
- What makes you feel accomplished?
- What frustrates you?
- What will you like to improve?
- What makes you unhappy?
