First Light Home Care was recommended by the hospital when my 96 yr old mother was released from ER after a bad fall. They were able to arrange overnight coverage that very same day. They have continued to provide 24/7 coverage through the week with an emphasis on minimizing the number of care givers. I met with John Richards, Co-Owner of First Light, the day my mom needed care and he had a wonderful caregiver at her home that very same evening. First Light’s caregivers are extremely kind, hard working and filled with love. My mom had a fractured pelvis and needed a great deal of help and I knew from the first few moments of meeting her caregiver, Nana, that my mom was in good hands. She got my mom up and moving as soon as she was able and made sure she ate well, slept well, exercised, and also had a wonderful presence of strength and love. I owe my mom’s recovery to her and the First Light team as they went above and beyond to make sure my mom was not only comfortable and well taken care of, but treated her with the love and concern that would best be described as family.
Firstlight of Fairfield County in CT was a Godsend to me and my family in our time of need. After a week-long hospital visit, our 93-year-old mother – who had dementia – went back to her assisted living facility. It became apparent on her first day back that she needed the help on a daily basis that she didn’t need prior to her hospital stay. We were referred to John Richards at Firstlight, and we didn’t know at the time that it was the best referral we could have asked for. They had an aide in place before the end of that day. These situations can’t be easy for them, but they made it seamless to us. For the next month, my mother needed different levels of care. The flexibility, professionalism, and care they provided were top notch. My family and I observed firsthand how the Firstlight aides treated our mother, always showing her the respect that she so deserved. I can’t thank them enough for the quality of care they provided my family during this very difficult time.
We had an unexpected short-term need for someone to help my mom, and FirstLight was highly recommended. I spoke with the owner, John, and he was very helpful in establishing a care plan that began the next day. My mom really enjoyed all the caregivers she encountered and this was a positive experience for something that can be very stressful. The hourly pricing was competitive and well worth the peace of mind that our loved one was safe and well cared for. First Light was responsive and able to fill our family’s needs with a caregiver that we can’t thank enough for their professionalism, advocacy and even friendship with our mother.
Thank you to everyone at FirstLight who helped us out in our time of great need. Our great Aunt( w/ dementia) who was 95 had a three day unexpected hospital stay. You were able to have qualified aides be there within a few hours of knowing she was being admitted. The shifts were covered with her for the entire time, so our family could have peace knowing she was being well taken care of when we could not be with her.
Ryan was personal, caring, professional and very understanding of our situation. He made sure the perfect matches were put into place. I would highly recommend FirstLight and would call them again should the need arise.
John and Wenjun have such a remarkable company for elderly care. They have the best caregivers I have ever encountered. They cared so much about my dad and treated him as if they were his own family. John and his team at First Light are top notch. The aides have the patience of saints and do a terrific job. Their schedulers are also the best. They are able to deal with and accommodate last minute requests and changes. They always follow-up and make sure you know who is coming and when. I highly recommend John and his team.
