We needed support people to help in the home of my elderly parents. I had heard from friends that First Light was a wonderful place to work with! I am a believer! We had several people come and all were good people. However, we were so … More blessed to find one in particular that was a perfect fit, Ann! She was always firm yet so kind in helping my father, especailly. He responded so well to her. She also bonded with my mom. My mom felt she was a good friend to her! Ann became such a loved and hard working part of the family that both my parents looked forward to Ann coming!! Unfortunately, my father's conditions required more and more care until he is now in a local nursing home. We had to end our relationship with First Light as the nursing home took over my father's daily care. It was a really hard conversation to have to tell such a wonderful person, Ann, that we had the opportunity to move my dad for more intense care and would no longer need her for the care of my dad! How absolutely lucky the next family will be to have Ann care for their loved ones! THANK YOU for finding us such a wonderful and loved caregiver for my family!! -

About five years ago my wife was told she couldn't drive anymore. I can't drive because I have Macular Degeneration. Pam became our caregiver.
She took my wife to the hairdresser and sometimes medical appointments.
Doctors … More said that my wife should use a walker. She didn't want to use it because it made her look old. She had a heavy purse which Pam named Martha and said she needed to ride in the walker because she had no legs. That's how Pam got her to use the walker. My wife adored and respected Pam.
My wife passed away in 2024 at which time she became my caregiver.
She does my laundry, light housework and takes me to the grocery store, sometimes medical appointments, and the restore where I used to volunteer.
She comes two days a week and makes me feel important. Life without her would be much less bearable. She is a blessing to my family and now a part of my family.
Having her here is a relief to my family since they are not always able to be here. -

She gives me the support I need to take care of my 94 y.o. mother – from keeping my mother clean and safe, taking care of her needs (sponge baths, … More meals, nebulizer, finding shows to watch), providing companionship, and keeping her rooms organized and tidy. Very tidy! She is gentle and respectful, a true advocate for the elderly. I can leave and run errands knowing my mother is in safe hands. She is also a wonderful companion during excursions when we bring my mother out to visit gardens. The office staff (Lizzy, Tiffany) are also very friendly, so it is a pleasure whenever I have to call the office for a request. Mistakes in scheduling happen once in a while, either on my part or theirs, but these are quickly and efficiently addressed. -
