Caregiving is a passion and it is one that I discovered at a very young age. Growing up, I was surrounded by a very large and extended family. I was able to see how each generation cared for and learned from one another.
Years later, my father became ill and I was no longer living near my parents. I knew that my mother struggled to care for him and maintain a full-time job. While I tried to be there as much as I could, I was caring for a loved one with a physical disability at home.
At the time, I had no idea that home care was an option. That it would have given me the ability to go and be with my parents and know that the family I left behind was taken care of. And, when I was home, my parents had the help and support they needed. Home care not only allows individuals to remain in their homes and be cared for but also provides peace of mind to their loved ones. That’s why I chose to be a part of FirstLight Home Care.
Isilda and her husband, David, have one child who attends Parkview High School.
