From those in charge like Dawn Polas and Stacey Stroup to Kim at Scheduling and our primary caregiver, Catelynn, the people of First Light have been incredibly patient and helpful throughout every part of this most challenging journey. There is, as many of you know firsthand, much worry that goes into these challenges, and First Light takes a goodly portion of that worry and logistical concern out of the equation. Recently my mom had a fall in a nursing facility at night and it happened on a Saturday night by Sunday night, First Light schedulers had a midnight aide Taylor out from 9:00-6:00 am to watch my mom and make sure she was safe through the … More night. Taylor could not have been any nicer or accurate in her approach when my mom did wake up and she handled her with compassion and kindness without ever meeting her. She's a gem!! Ashley, Kim, Dawn and Stacy are a team that cannot be beaten and whenever I call (which is about 60x a week), they are always ready to step and get it done for me. If you need an agency, they are the ones to call.. -

All of our family lives out of town and when my grandfather passed away, my grandma wanted to stay in her home and without FLHC we would not have been able to honor my grandmother's wishes. With 4 children and 2 grandchildren all with opinions, the professionalism of the FLHC team to manage the family and provide second to none caregiving was a blessing! My folks – Dad/85 and going through chemo; Mom/84 with Parkinson’s – have been working with the wonderful people of First Light since December 2025, and to say I’m impressed with each and every aspect of the agency would be a tremendous understatement. From those in charge like Dawn Polas and Stacey Stroup to Kim at Scheduling and our primary caregiver, Catelynn, the people of First Light have been incredibly patient and helpful throughout every part of this most challenging journey. There is, as many of you know firsthand, much worry that goes into these challenges, and First Light takes a goodly portion of that worry and logistical concern out of the equation. My mother Rose does not have Internet or Google so she wanted me to give an evaluation. Joana is very efficient and does a really good job with all that is needed to be done. Also, she is very nice to talk to.
Recently my mom had a fall in a nursing facility at night and it happened on a Saturday night by Sunday night, First Light schedulers had a midnight aide Taylor out from 9:00-6:00 am to watch my mom and make sure she was safe through the night. Taylor could not have been any nicer or accurate in her approach when my mom did wake up and she handled her with compassion and kindness without ever meeting her. She’s a gem!! Ashley, Kim, Dawn and Stacy are a team that cannot be beaten and whenever I call (which is about 60x a week), they are always ready to step and get it done for me. If you need an agency, they are the ones to call..

I actually work in Home Care in Los Angeles and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable caregiving option for their loved one. My family was taken care of by Dawn, Ashley, and Stacy and we were so lucky to have their assistance through the caregiving journey for my grandmother! All of our family lives out of town and when my grandfather passed away, my grandma wanted to stay in her home and without FLHC we would not have been able to honor my grandmother’s wishes. With 4 children and 2 grandchildren all with opinions, the professionalism of the FLHC team to manage the family and provide second to none caregiving was a blessing! We are so thankful to them and so grateful for the care they provided! I’d rate them 100 Stars if I could.
First Light has provided my father with excellent care for over two years. From the start they have worked with us to provide care in the morning slot that works best for him. His caregivers help him to get his day started, preparing his breakfast, helping him dress and make his bed, leading him through daily exercises, helping with laundry and cleaning, and being there standing by to make sure he stays safe while showering. His caregivers have always been friendly, kind and supporting in their care and everyone in the office quick and reliable to make arrangements for his needs. They have gone above and beyond to help support our family in our care for Dad.
I have used various home health agencies for over ten years. The past two years I have been exclusively with First Light Home Care. Our home health aides are compassionate and dependable. First Light staff and caregivers have enabled our parents to stay in the home they built and love.
While we’ve had many caregivers over the years, they really have become like family. The caregivers show love to mom and dad, meet their day to day needs, keep everyone and everything clean, prepare meals…water the flowers, fill the hummingbird feeder…gather the mail, bring dad his newspaper, watch for the deer…I could go on…They make it personal.

From the first time I called the office to any time now day or night, they have done nothing but accommodate me and my mom’s needs. Their workers are pristine and very caring and aware of what my mom needs and my mind is always at ease when she’s with their workers. I highly recommend them!!

The care takers here do a great job of taking care of my mom and dad. Nicole Richard even made them a pie and organized their fridge on her last visit. She is always on top of everything that needs to be done.
