Holly’s professional journey has always centered around helping people prepare for life’s most important transitions. As an estate and long-term care planning attorney, she worked closely with families to ensure their loved ones were protected, their wishes respected, and their futures secure. She is also a VA-accredited attorney, guiding veterans and their families through the often-complex process of applying for and securing the benefits they’ve earned.

Over the years, Holly developed a deep understanding of how long-term care works—not just legally, but practically. Her expertise in long-term care insurance allowed her to help clients plan ahead, make the most of their coverage, and access quality care without unnecessary financial stress.

Through this work, she witnessed firsthand how overwhelming the care journey can be—especially when families are navigating it alone. She saw too many people fall through the cracks, struggling to find compassionate, reliable, and truly personalized care at home.

That’s why Holly chose to purchase FirstLight Home Care of Chardon/Northeast Cleveland. For her, it was a natural extension of her career—and a personal mission. She wanted to do more than help people plan for care; she wanted to provide it.

Joclynn Matzek, Human Resource Manager

After spending over 20 years working in human resources, office management, accounting, and training—including leading and mentoring teams at Amazon—Joclynn realized she wanted something more than just a career. She wanted connection, community and purpose.

That’s what led her to FirstLight Home Care.

As the wife of a veteran, Joclynn was drawn to FirstLight’s commitment to serving VA clients. Being able to give back to those who’ve served—and to work alongside a team that truly cares about the people in our community—is what makes her excited to come to work every day. Advocating for and supporting our caregivers is one of the most important things to her, because she believes that when caregivers feel valued and supported, the care they provide is even more impactful.

Outside of work, Joclynn is a proud wife of 16 years and mom to four energetic kids who keep her constantly moving with sports, baton twirling, and everyday adventures. When they’re not on the go, you’ll find her family outside hiking, fishing, or soaking up the sun at the beach.

Shannon Danzey, Care Coordinator and Scheduler

Shannon brings compassion, organization, and a strong sense of purpose to her role as Care Coordinator and Scheduler at FirstLight Home Care. With previous experience in scheduling for a local hospice company, she developed a deep respect for the importance of home-based care—especially for seniors. That experience left a lasting impact and ultimately inspired her to return to the field, where she feels called to make a difference.

At FirstLight, Shannon plays a key role in coordinating care for clients while supporting the dedicated caregivers who serve them. She finds fulfillment in knowing that her work helps make someone’s day a little easier, whether it’s a client receiving care or a caregiver who feels heard and supported. Her warm, thoughtful approach and commitment to service make her a valued member of the FirstLight team.

Outside of work, Shannon is a proud wife and mother of two. She enjoys reading, spending quality time with her family, and finding quiet moments to recharge.
