Blog Entry – Grateful – November 1, 2023
Written By: Lacey Bean, SHRM-SCP, HR Director
Welcome to the new and improved FirstLight Home Care of Northern Colorado blog!
Today marks our inaugural entry.
As our first entry and it being the month of November with the iconic American tradition of Thanksgiving quickly speeding towards us we’d like to share some thankfulness with you!
In May of this year, we celebrated being in business as FirstLight Home Care of Northern Colorado for 7 years. During that time we’ve had the privilege of caring for and with countless clients, their families, and our staff. Throughout those 7 years we’ve gone by a few other names, FirstLight Home Care of Greeley, FirstLight Home Care of Fort Collins, and eventually settled on the all encompassing FirstLight Home Care of Northern Colorado.
I’m a numbers lady myself so here are a few:
584 – People employed over our 7+ years of business
373,760 – Hours spent helping clients in their homes
$6.7 Million – dollars paid to employees helping clients
282 – Total Veterans assisted
916 – Total clients assisted in their own home
Our owner, Brian Wilson, and our Executive Director, Lindsey Combs, have always been gracious and exemplified an attitude of gratefulness for the ability to provide a livelihood to so many in Northern Colorado through this work. Over the last 7 years at any given time, we have employed up to 75 members of the community. Many have been with us since day 1. We are so grateful for their longevity and consider them our true family.
We’re grateful for this work, it is truly a passion for us to allow older adults to stay in the comfort of their own home. It’s truly a gift for us to enable this kind of independence.
Lastly, but not least, we want to say thank you to our community and our staff. You make us who we are. We’re grateful to you!
God Bless you during this month of gratefulness and in the new year to come!
