She provides … More companion care, light housekeeping, prepares meals, and fills my mother's weekly medication box, but she does so much more than simply complete a list of tasks.
She takes the time to make each visit meaningful. She reads to my mother, works jigsaw puzzles with her, and sits with her at the kitchen bay window watching the birds at the feeder—my mother's favorite pastime. They even spend time together on the deck enjoying the fresh air and conversation. These thoughtful moments have become an important part of my mother's week, and it's obvious that our aide genuinely cares about her well-being and happiness.
What has impressed us just as much is the agency's commitment to dependable care. When our aide's car wouldn't start one morning, someone from the office picked her up at home, brought her to our house so she could arrive on time, and drove her home after her shift. On another occasion, when our aide had a family emergency and needed to call off, the agency immediately sent an office employee to stay with my mother until another caregiver could arrive, ensuring she was safe and never left alone.
That level of dedication, reliability, and compassion is rare. It is clear that FirstLight Home Care values both the families they serve and the caregivers they employ. Our mom has loved working with Tai. She is kind, sensitive, compassionate and caring. She has been able to encourage our mom to do things with her that other providers have not been able to do previously. She looks after our mom as if she was one of her own family members and could not ask for better care for our mom.
Amy has been a great problem solver for us too. She has quickly gotten back to us with any questions or concerns, and helped us figure out how to manage mom's daily medications.
Other notes: the online family portal is very helpful. We get updates after each visit and personal notes that are wonderful to read. Billing is straightforward and easy to set up automatic payments. -

Once … More I experienced FirstLight I knew I would never use any other agency again! The aides are so caring, dependable, and everyone communicated very well with our staff and the families. With FirstLight on the case were able to have peace of mind knowing if there was a change in condition it would be communicated immediately. My favorite thing about FirstLight Home Care is that no shift ever goes uncovered and the aides are matched with the clients. The nurses do introductions with the patients and caregivers to ensure they are a good fit. I have never had anything like that with any other agency. The company’s emphasis is on doing the best job we can for our clients. 10/10 would recommend to anyone going into this field.

With FirstLight on the case were able to have peace of mind knowing if there was a change in condition it would be communicated immediately. My favorite thing about FirstLight Home Care is that no shift ever goes uncovered and the aides are matched with the clients. The nurses do introductions with the patients and caregivers to ensure they are a good fit. I have never had anything like that with any other agency. The first 2 weeks of care we had different caregivers to help determine the best fit for mom. The staff do not pressure me to pick up extra … More shifts I simply cannot attend. Management have never been unprofessional or rude instead opting to provide effective and concise supervision. The company’s emphasis is on doing the best job we can for our clients. 10/10 would recommend to anyone going into this field.

Our family has had an excellent experience with FirstLight Home Care of Central Ohio. Our home care aide visits my mother twice a week, and we couldn’t ask for someone more kind, caring, professional, and conscientious. She provides companion care, light housekeeping, prepares meals, and fills my mother’s weekly medication box, but she does so much more than simply complete a list of tasks.
She takes the time to make each visit meaningful. She reads to my mother, works jigsaw puzzles with her, and sits with her at the kitchen bay window watching the birds at the feeder—my mother’s favorite pastime. They even spend time together on the deck enjoying the fresh air and conversation. These thoughtful moments have become an important part of my mother’s week, and it’s obvious that our aide genuinely cares about her well-being and happiness.
What has impressed us just as much is the agency’s commitment to dependable care. When our aide’s car wouldn’t start one morning, someone from the office picked her up at home, brought her to our house so she could arrive on time, and drove her home after her shift. On another occasion, when our aide had a family emergency and needed to call off, the agency immediately sent an office employee to stay with my mother until another caregiver could arrive, ensuring she was safe and never left alone.
That level of dedication, reliability, and compassion is rare. It is clear that FirstLight Home Care values both the families they serve and the caregivers they employ. First Light has been exceptional for our families needs. Amy and Kennedy have been awesome and my MIL and FIL are delighted with their service. Having a family member in Hospice Care is difficult enough, but First Light has been a solid source for support with out wavering in the least. They can be counted on for timely and exceptional care at a time when it is needed most.
This was our family’s first experience with in home care and we couldn’t be happier with the service we received. From beginning to end this company gave us high quality service. Amy came out to our house to meet our family, make notes about the care environment, and clarify pricing. First Light has a family portal to enter details of each visit which helped us while we were away. We were able to see how dad did each day and see that he took his meds. Dad had nothing but nice things to say about Josephine and Gia’s care. After our return, Amy called to check in and get feedback about their services. This is exactly what we needed to ensure Dad was taken care of while we were away. We’ll definitely hire this company again.
Tai and Amy at FirstLight of Central Ohio have been amazing to work with. Our mom has been very hesitant to accept help. Amy spent a lot of time reviewing our needs for our Mom, how care providers are trained including extra training in dementia care, and then how they are matched with clients.
Our mom has loved working with Tai. She is kind, sensitive, compassionate and caring. She has been able to encourage our mom to do things with her that other providers have not been able to do previously. She looks after our mom as if she was one of her own family members and could not ask for better care for our mom.
Amy has been a great problem solver for us too. She has quickly gotten back to us with any questions or concerns, and helped us figure out how to manage mom’s daily medications.
Other notes: the online family portal is very helpful. We get updates after each visit and personal notes that are wonderful to read. Billing is straightforward and easy to set up automatic payments.
Fantastic service! They helped us get through a very sudden hospice situation during an extreme weather event. They were always on time, friendly, helpful, and extremely compassionate to my Father (the patient) and my Mum. We truly and deeply appreciated how easy they made it to give my father and us the best care possible.
I am very pleased with FirstLight Home Care. Melissa has been such a blessing for me. She cares for me and my home as if it were her own. The company (especially Sydney) works very hard to adjust the schedule to meet my doctors appointments. Melissa not only cares for me and my home, she runs errands for me like going to the pharmacy, mailing packages, helps with groceries, and even takes me to get my hair cut. She has made my life easier. Like I said, she is been a blessing to me and my family by making my life more enjoyable. 🙂
