All of the staff and Caregivers have been totally AMAZING since my first meeting with Bethany several months ago. I never knew they existed until someone told my daughter about them (who lives in Florida). She flew up here to Ohio and scheduled … More a meeting right away. I didn't let myself get high hopes because of all the huge disappointments we've had recently, but to my total surprise – they went above and beyond anything I could have imagined or prayed for. My only true regret is not knowing about First Light a LOT earlier! I was in the Healthcare field my whole life, and I've witnessed a lot of good and bad facilities and care. I would have given anything to work for First Light back then, if I would have known about them and how truly caring and amazing everyone is. Now I want to shout First Light's praise because they are "doing" what every single person deserves for their care. There's no excuses for anything less. I've noticed how happy everyone seems to be with their jobs, and I believe First Light does right by their employees as well as their patients – because it shows in so many ways. I have gotten so much better since they've been coming, and my mental health is better than ever now. I wouldn't have made it if I would have had to stay at either of the Nursing Homes I was in any longer. THANK YOU to First Light, and to everyone working "with and for" them. I believe all of you will have a special place in Heaven. You are making ALL the difference! -
First Light sent an amazing caregiver to spend evening with my Mother who was with Hospice at age 98. My Mother led an amazing life as an artist, philanthropist and activist. We just started with First Light and they have knocked our socks off! Right off the bat they were challenged with the recent winter storm, and they worked to make sure each shift was covered. The caregivers we’ve had are on top of everything, … More including stuff I would think of as a family caregiver, are fun to have around, and are eager to help. Jade from First Light was my father’s primary care giver. She always took the best care of my father from personal care to cooking to laundry etc. Any time there was a slight change with my father she would be in contact with me. My father … More waited for her to arrive and was happy to see her. When we needed 24 hour care at times all staff was professional and took care of my father as their own. My father absolutely wanted to go to his granddaughter’s (my daughter’s) wedding.Jade was able to get my father ready to go and drove him to the church and then the venue where she stayed by his side at all times. She then took him back home. When my father needed a long term care facility, Jade was able to provide him companionship and still kept me updated with any changes. Dena was great with scheduling and any questions I might have. She also kept in contact during any hospital stays my father had. Jade is considered part of the family. First Light is highly recommended! -

I am so thankful to have First Light to help with my loved one. As a Social Worker in Healthcare it’s hard to have the time needed to help with everything that they might need and the ladies at First Light have helped take the weight off … More my shoulders. Not only are they there to help with daily needs but have taken my loved one to Dr appointments. When there are staffing changes they are great to make sure they have the right fit to help her. I am so grateful for them to help me during this process. Its completely different when you are dealing with family than your patients. I can’t thank them enough for their expertise. Luckily, I knew of the services First Light Home Care provides before I needed them. While laying in the hospital after THREE surgeries for TWO broken arms I was full of fear, pain, and angst wondering how I was going to shower, wash my … More hair, or change my clothes let alone feed myself. As my daughters fussed about how things were going to proceed, I picked up the phone and called Bethany–at 8:30 PM (Daughters were mortified that I called at that hour:). Sweet professional Bethany answered and set my mind completely at ease. She visited us at Grant Hospital the very next day and we made all of the necessary arrangements. Not knowing how long I was going to remain admitted, First Light was on call to begin the morning after I arrived home. I have never been so happy to see a smiling face that morning. The entire week in the hospital I had an IV in my neck, and the staff kept adding tape and more tape in my hair. You can only imagine the matted mess I came home with. My First Light Angel, Lisa, was AMAZING that first day and every day following. She gently washed my damaged and aching body and then tackled my hair. After 2 hours I finally, after 10 days, looked and felt somewhat similar to my former self. Her consistent gentle care did sooo much for my recovery and mental health. I enjoyed our visits over the next few weeks as she helped me become more independent in self care. First light was a true God-send in helping me and my husband survive the those rough weeks following my accident. Lisa and Bethany were there to assist with exactly what we needed. Thank you First Light, Thank You Bethany, Thank you Lisa. -
