Extraordinary People. Exceptional Care.
“I am excited to be part of the FirstLight family of small business owners. My former job ended at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and with a lot of time to think and reflect, coupled with the emotions of not being able to be near loved ones, I knew I wanted something different and meaningful for the next chapter in my life. As I explored and learned about the home care industry, I felt a strong connection to its purpose and value to those in need of home care services. I thought about my own grandmother who, at age 93, is still able to live in her own home and would not want it any other way. I thought about a friend whose father suddenly became ill and she was forced to juggle work, family, and taking care of her father, and what a difference home care would have made to her and her family. I remembered back to when I had each of my three children, and how much it would have helped to have someone in my home a few times a week to cook dinner and help with laundry so that I could focus on what was most important. I heard stories of people in live-in care facilities with high caregiver-to-patient ratios, and how so many were forced to isolate during the pandemic. These are just a few of the examples that tugged on my heartstrings and led me to the decision to invest in a home care business. Home care isn’t about simply providing needed services, it’s about changing lives, and that is something I am proud of and committed to doing each and every day.”
