James leads FirstLight Home Care. He worked in dementia care across the United States, partnering with physicians and healthcare providers to improve support for individuals and families. He wrote a children’s book on dementia with his wife to give families clear, honest language for difficult conversations. He also supports both of his parents who live with dementia. These experiences shaped his belief in compassionate care and the idea that every client deserves their best day.

James builds a team rooted in compassion. He believes the people who show up each day, and the culture they share, shape every client’s experience. He also serves as a Community Educator with the Alzheimer’s Association, speaking across the region to strengthen understanding of dementia and support families.

Outside of work, James lives on a small farm with his wife, a veterinarian who cares for many animals. Their home reflects the same spirit of care that guides the agency. Compassion shapes how James leads and how the team supports families every day.

Carissa, Care Coordinator

Carissa is committed to providing strong support to clients and coworkers. She began her career in home care in 2017 and moved quickly into a staffing coordinator role, building skills in scheduling, communication, and caregiver support. After expanding her experience in recruiting, she returned to senior care and now serves as a Client Care Coordinator.

In 2025, Carissa joined the founding team of FirstLight Home Care. She transitioned from caregiver to Client Coordinator, bringing experience, compassion, and steady energy to support families and the team.

Outside of work, Carissa is a devoted mom to two daughters who inspire her every day. She enjoys family time, walking, trying new foods, and relaxing with a good show. Family and meaningful work shape everything she does.

Stephanie brings 12 years of healthcare experience to her role as a Care Coordinator at FirstLight Home Care. Known for being loving, patient, and trustworthy, she provides compassionate support to clients and families, ensuring each person’s needs are met with care and respect. As a devoted single mother of three, her children are her world and inspire her dedication, empathy, and steady guidance both at home and at work. Ashleigh, Care Assistant

Ashleigh Adams is a compassionate and experienced Care Assistant at FirstLight Home Care. With a strong background in personal care, healthcare support, and client advocacy, she provides assistance focused on comfort, safety, and well-being. Her CNA training and experience strengthened her ability to support clients and build meaningful connections.

Outside of work, Ashleigh enjoys time with her three daughters. Managing a busy household has strengthened the communication, problem solving, and organizational skills she applies every day.

Kimberly Emrich is the Community Liaison for FirstLight Home Care, bringing over 25 years of sales experience. She connects families, healthcare providers, and local organizations with compassionate and reliable care services. She listens, educates, and supports families as they consider care options.

Whether working with hospital discharge planners, Sr Living Communities leaders, attending senior expos, or presenting at community centers, her focus is on ensuring each person has access to care delivered with dignity and respect.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys time with her husband, children, and four grandchildren. She is active in her church and involved in community and volunteer work.

Chelsea, Business Development

Chelsea is a Business Development professional at FirstLight Home Care, bringing over 11 years of experience in car sales. Known for being motivated, adaptable, and team-oriented, she excels at building strong relationships and connecting families with compassionate, reliable care. Chelsea’s experience in sales has strengthened her ability to listen, understand, and provide thoughtful guidance to families navigating care options. Outside of work, she is a devoted mom, keeping busy supporting her children’s sports and activities, which inspires her energy, dedication, and focus in everything she does.

With a background in restaurant management, she brings strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills to her role and is passionate about building a dependable care team dedicated to exceptional home care.
