Scot Kuratsu had the distinct honor of being able to care for both his father and father-in-law at the end of their respective lives. After seeing what both men went through in various facilities, Scot and his family made the decision to make the remaining days of their lives as comfortable as possible by providing the love, dignity, and care in the most familiar and safest place for them…home.

Alicia Pina - Business Liaison

Alicia Pina brings a career built on genuine connection to her role as Business Liaison at FirstLight Home Care. After more than a decade as a professional makeup artist, Alicia made the decision to pursue a career centered on helping others — a shift sparked by the fulfillment she found caring for her own family, which she had been doing for eight years.

Alicia joined the FirstLight team in October 2024 as a caregiver, where she had the privilege of working alongside clients who gave back to her just as much as she gave to them. Within six months, she transitioned into a part-time office role, and within a year she was working full-time, helping build the FirstLight team from the ground up. Today, as Business Liaison, Alicia recruits top caregiving talent, builds meaningful relationships throughout the community, and organizes events, trainings, and new hire onboarding to keep the FirstLight team strong and connected.

Ingrid Colon - Client Care Coordinator

Hi my name is Ingrid, and I am the Client Care Coordinator at FirstLight Home Care Simi Valley. With 18 years of experience as a caregiver, caring for others is more than a profession to me it is my passion and my purpose. I feel truly grateful to have a career that allows me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others every day.

I believe exceptional caregiving begins with compassion, patience, respect, and genuine connection. My goal is to provide not only dependable care, but also comfort, companionship, and peace of mind to the individuals and families I have the privilege of serving. I understand that every person is unique, and I believe in providing care that is personalized to their individual needs, preferences, and dignity.

One of the things that brings me the greatest joy is helping others. I also love sharing my knowledge and experience with those who are beginning their caregiving journey. Being able to teach someone how to become an excellent caregiver and encouraging them to care for others with kindness and compassion is something that truly makes my heart and soul happy.

Outside of my work, family is at the center of my life. I have been married to my husband for 12 years, and together we have four amazing children and two beloved dogs. I cherish spending time with my family and creating the little moments and memories that make life so special.

I look forward to bringing my experience, compassion, and dedication to every person and family I have the opportunity to care for. It is an honor to be trusted with someone’s care, and I strive every day to make a positive difference in the lives of those I serve.

I strive to bring light, positivity, and compassion into everything I do. Helping others is not just what I do – it’s my greatest joy and life’s purpose. I continually ask myself, “What are you doing for others?” That question guides the way I live, serve, and connect with those around me.

I pride myself on being a safe, supportive space where people feel comfortable without fear of judgement. As a calm, intuitive communicator, I lead with empathy, integrity, and a focus on meaningful results.

Outside of my work, I enjoy hiking, cooking, caring for my many houseplants, and journaling. Healing and wellness are my true passions, and I believe every experience offers an opportunity for growth and connection. My purpose is to share my blessing of life with others in whatever capacity that involves. I strive to leave every person and every place a little brighter than I found it.
