To further establish ourselves as a quality-focused home care provider in the Sacramento region, FirstLight Home Care has launched a new Quality Team.

While some home care agencies have begun outsourcing operations to remote third parties, FirstLight has done the opposite. We continue investing in our local team to improve the quality and personal touch for which we are known. (By “operations” I mean hiring, scheduling, training, billing and all communications with you, your loved one and your caregivers — almost everything we do).

Home care is “simple but not easy.” I believe it is a people business and that outsourcing is the wrong approach.

Why? Because outsourcing makes personal relationships between you, your loved one and the office impossible. No one in a remote call center will
• ever meet your family or your caregivers
• know which caregivers have the right personality for your loved one
• or feel the same sense of urgency we do when there is a scheduling emergency

In short, a call center can’t deliver the highest level of service. Quality home care requires not just great caregivers. It requires excellence in the office as well — personal relationships and excellent communication with you.

Now for the news!

We have promoted Jessica Adams to the new role of Quality Director, where she will spend more time in client’s homes ensuring they are receiving the best care from the right caregiver(s). Assisting Jessica and completing the Quality Team will be our new On Call Caregiver Team. This group will make it easier for us to fill shifts during scheduling emergencies.

With these new roles and greater bandwidth in the office, clients can expect:

  1. Continued 24/7 phone coverage by our staff (100% local – no call centers or voicemails)
  2. More home visits and phone check-ins
  3. Faster resolution of scheduling emergencies
  4. Continued hiring of caregivers to ensure good coverage of shifts
  5. Continued 100% in-house operations, including hiring, training, scheduling, on call and billing
