Paul Terpeluk, Owner & General Manager

Paul founded FirstLight in 2017 after a varied career in academia, foreign policy (with expertise in Ukraine), retail management and corporate finance.  FirstLight’s focus on constant improvement and quality of care has enabled it to grow to an eight-person office team with over 100 caregivers.  Paul loves getting to know his caregivers and office staff, the most compassionate group of individuals he has ever met.  He has a BA in Philosophy from Princeton, a MA in Philosophy from Brown and an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  In his spare time, Paul loves to fly fish for trout and steelhead in the rivers of northern California and tie his own flies.

Maggie, Scheduling Manager

Maggie joined FirstLight Home Care in July 2022. She came to us with years of experience in the senior care industry. She was also a dental assistant and has always loved providing the best care possible. Maggie is very passionate about her elderly community and teaching others how to properly care for their clients. When she is not working, she is spending time with her husband and friends.

Jessica, Quality Director

Jessica joined FirstLight in October 2022. She Came to us with 16 Years of experience in the senior care industry. Jessica started as a caregiver when she was 18, working with high levels of Dementia and clients with behavioral issues. With her compassion for advocating for the elderly community she became a certified RCFE administrator for a board and care home. She is also a certified Memory Care trainer. Jessica is passionate about the seniors she serves, making difference both big and small as well making caregivers feel supported and appreciated. In her spare time she loves spending quality time with family.

Nikki, Recruiting Manager

Nikki joined The Commons of Elk Grove in September 2018. She worked in both assisted
living and memory care. She came to us with 6 years of experience in the senior
care industry. Prior to senior care she was a stay-at-home mother of 3 children.
Nicole has always had a love for the senior community, so becoming a caregiver came
with passion. When she is not working she is spending time with her 2 daughters,
son and boyfriend of 6 years.

Sami, On Call Manager

Sami joined the senior care field out of high school, enrolling in CNA classes her senior year and graduating from them around the time she graduated high school. Since then she has been an in-home caregiver for ten years and for five of those years worked as the only call care manager as well. In the time she is not working she spends her time painting and working with her dog.

Krystle, Community Relations Director

Krystle came to FirstLight Home Care in May 2024 and has worked in the Senior Industry for 13 years. She has worked as a Community Relations Director in both Assisted Living Facilities and In Home Care. In addition, Krystle has worked as a Client Care Manager for In Home Care as well. Krystle is very passionate about helping seniors and their loved ones seeking care.

Christel, Business Office Manager

Christel joined FirstLight Home Care in October 2022 as the Business Office Manager. She has been doing accounting and finance since graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Caregiving has been an ongoing part of her life, whether helping with an aging mother or a husband with health issues. FirstLight Home Care provided a place to do both roles. She loves to garden, travel, and dabble in painting.

Serena, Community Relations Director

Serena has over 20 years experience in the senior care industry. She started as a caregiver and then progressively worked as a medication technician, activities assistant, receptionist and activities director in various senior communities.  She has always worked in memory care, where she gained her knowledge and passion for helping those with Alzheimer’s.

Sheila, Community Staffing Liaison & Training Director

Sheila’s love for seniors started at a young age with her grandmother.  She began her career as a caregiver and has progressed through various roles in senior living communities, including activity director, sales director, executive director and caregiver manager.  These nine years of broad experience, combined with her upcoming BA in Gerontology from Sacramento State, allow her to train caregivers with a truly holistic approach.  In her free time, Sheila enjoys reading, nature and exercise.

Sitesha, Community Relations Director

Sitesha joined First Light Home Care in August 2024, bringing with her over a decade of experience in elder care. Her background encompasses a diverse range of roles, including caregiver, medication technician, and manager of a call center dedicated to helping older adults maintain their independence and social connections. Sitesha has also supported residents in assisted living and memory care communities, leveraging skills and knowledge acquired through specialized training programs. She is deeply committed to participating in fundraising initiatives that raise awareness of the diverse needs of the aging population. In her spare time, Sitesha enjoys journaling, practicing yoga, and spending quality time with her loved ones.
