Paul Terpeluk, Owner & General Manager
As General Manager, Paul oversees the entire FirstLight operation and is actively involved in the business every day. “The best fertilizer is a farmer’s shadow.”
Paul founded FirstLight in 2017 after a varied career in academia, foreign policy (with expertise in Ukraine), retail management and corporate finance. FirstLight’s focus on constant improvement and quality of care has enabled it to grow to a nine-person office team with over 100 caregivers. Paul loves getting to know his caregivers and office staff, the most compassionate group of individuals he has ever met. He has a BA in Philosophy from Princeton, a MA in Philosophy from Brown and an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Paul is married, with two children in college. In his spare time, he loves to fly fish for trout and steelhead in the rivers of northern California and tie his own flies. He helps care for his elderly parents who live in nearby Lincoln, CA.

Jessica, Operations Director
As Operations Director, Jessica leads our operations team (scheduler, on call manager, care manager, hiring manager & hiring assistants).
Jessica joined FirstLight in October 2022 and has 18 years of senior care experience. She Came to us with 16 Years of experience in the senior care industry. Jessica started as a caregiver when she was 18, working with high levels of Dementia and clients with behavioral issues. With her compassion for advocating for the elderly community she became a certified RCFE administrator for a board and care home. She is also a certified Memory Care trainer. Jessica is passionate about the seniors she serves, making difference both big and small as well making caregivers feel supported and appreciated. In her spare time she loves spending quality time with family.

James, Senior Community Relations Director
As the Senior Director of Community Relations at FirstLight Home Care, James manages our sales team. He is dedicated to building meaningful connections that support individuals and families in need of care. He works closely with community partners and referral sources to ensure clients have access to the resources and support they deserve. Through thoughtful collaboration, regular communication, and active participation in healthcare settings like Hospitals, Assisted Living, Rehab, Home Health/Hospice, and Independent Living communities, James helps create a network of care that prioritizes the well-being of each person served. His passion for community engagement is rooted in a genuine commitment to improving the lives of seniors and others who wish to remain safe, supported, and comfortable wherever they call home.
James is a results-driven executive with over 20 years of experience leading high-performing teams and consistently exceeding regional goals. Known for his empathetic, inclusive leadership style, he fosters a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration. With a strong background in pharmaceuticals, medical equipment / device, and hospice partnerships, James brings deep industry insight and a patient-first approach to every engagement—always focused on the people he serves.

Sami, On Call Manager
As our On Call Manager, Sami “holds down the fort” on weekends and most overnights. She performs scheduling and care management and will be your main point of contact outside of normal business hours.
Sami joined the senior care field out of high school, enrolling in CNA classes her senior year and graduating from them around the time she graduated high school and has 12 years of senior care experience. Since then she has been an in-home caregiver for ten years and for five of those years worked as the only on call care manager as well. In the time she is not working she spends her time painting and working with her dogs.

Sitesha, Community Relations Director
As Community Relations Director, Sitesha regularly visits our local industry partners — from assisted living and memory care communities, to hospice and home health agencies, and medical providers such as hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. One of her roles is identifying resources for you if you need other types of help. She occasionally visits clients as well.
Sitesha joined First Light Home Care in August 2024, and has 12 years of senior care experience. Her background encompasses a diverse range of roles, including caregiver, medication technician, and manager of a call center dedicated to helping older adults maintain their independence and social connections. Sitesha has also supported residents in assisted living and memory care communities, leveraging skills and knowledge acquired through specialized training programs. She is deeply committed to participating in fundraising initiatives that raise awareness of the diverse needs of the aging population. In her spare time, Sitesha enjoys journaling, practicing yoga, and spending quality time with her loved ones.

Brenda, Business Office Manager
As Business Office Manager, Brenda handles billing, payroll, benefits and other administrative duties. She will be your main contact for billing questions.
Brenda joined FirstLight Home Care in February 2025. She came to us with almost 20 years of experience in payroll, accounting, and finance. She has a BS in Accountancy from California State University, Sacramento. Brenda loves serving all in her community and sharing her financial knowledge and skills. She is married with five children: two in college, one in high school, and two not yet in school! In her spare time, Brenda enjoys gathering with family both near and far, hiking/camping, and staying active.

Josephine, Hiring & Training Manager
Josephine hires and onboards all of our caregivers. Once they’re employed, she’s in charge of training them to ensure they have the proper skills.
Josephine joined FirstLight in January 2021 and has 21 years of senior care experience — as a live-in caregiver in Israel caring for a senior suffering from Psychosis Brain Syndrome adult lady and a young woman with Multiple Sclerosis. In 2019, came to the US and worked in multiple assisted living communities in Colorado and realized she had a “soul-to-soul connection” with the elderly. Moving to California in 2021, she found FirstLight Home Care and continued caring for our seniors. She is the proud mother of three daughters and a bread winner to her family in the Philippines. She enjoys cooking healthy meals, housekeeping and physical activities during her time off.

Aileen, Care Manager
As our Care Manager, Aileen on-boards new/prospective clients. She then establishes & nurtures ongoing relationships with all clients and their loved ones to ensure they are receiving top quality care.
Aileen joined FirstLight in October 2025 and has been working in the healthcare industry for over two years. She has personal caregiving experience from caring for her grandmother for more than two years, and currently helps care for her mom as well. Supporting our senior community is something Aileen is truly passionate about, and also a strong advocate for our veterans—her husband is currently serving in the military. She is a proud mom of three wonderful children and is deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of seniors.

Tenisha, Scheduling Manager
Tenisha brings over 7 years of staffing management experience and a compassionate background in CNA and caregiver work to her role at FirstLight Home Care. She has a genuine passion for supporting seniors and ensuring they receive high-quality, dignified care.
In her role, Tenisha oversees staffing creating thoughtful matches between caregivers and clients. Her warm approach, combined with her firsthand caregiving experience, helps foster a supportive environment where both clients and caregivers feel valued and understood.
