The 24 hour caregivers were truly wonderful with mom's … More difficult behaviors due to some dementia issues. They were kind and helpful to her in her fragile state explaining again and again why certain things had to happen. Stacey Mora, director of client care was particularly helpful to the family before care, during and after the provided services. Stacey kindly offered to do many things for the family which lightened the load of preparing for this difficult life journey. It is my personal opinion that Stacey went above and beyond routine business procedures to help us deal with the many unexpected things that popped up to cause us worry. Afterward Stacey was there with comforting words of encouragement and support to help wherever we needed it. We HIGHLY recommend First Light Home Care of Coeur d'Alene and Spokane. Your loved one will treasure getting to remain at home with the loving care provided by highly capable in-home care-givers. Well done First Light!!! -

My Mother suffered an injury that required in home care – I live out of state and really was not sure how to set up care remotely- when I spoke with Stacey she took the time to really break down … More the process and described what services are offered, the training their caregivers receive, the range of services from companionship to meal prep and tidying up the house, to list a few. Stacey was very accommodating with both her knowledge and time- we set up a time for her meet my Mom and we set up FaceTime so I could be present – this worked very well and while we had a few agencies do this – Mom felt very comfortable with Stacey and the information that she provided and we decided on FirstLight- the staff really paid attention and listened to my Mom and then they paired her with caregivers that they felt would be a good fit – I would get frequent updates on scheduling- we did a combination of daytime hours and then a few overnights weekly – this worked out well and really got my Mom to point where she could be independent again- I am very thankful to the team at FirstLight! -

Most of the caregivers were good about documenting the hours they spent with my dad, jotting down how his day went and how he was feeling. I appreciated logging in and reading those care logs on my dad. Like many, the goal was to keep mom in her home as she aged. Sounds good, but then reality sets in. She was lonely, felt someone was in her home, she became frightened, would decide to go for a drive, wasn’t taking her medications and … More there was the possibility of poor nutrition and cleanliness.
What to do. We talked with a few agencies. Nice, but not proactive
My brother, who lives in New Mexico (I live in Everett, Wa) and mom is in Hayden Idaho , found First light. We called; this was December of 2025. Within 24 hours Stacy and coworker were at mom’s house, for two hours, to do an evaluation. Paperwork was in the mail to me within days. Above and beyond the call of duty people worked to get helpers in the home by the second week in January. Absolutely amazing. Absolute comfort, support and compassion.
Every helper companion was knowledgeable and professional. They had been trained expertly demonstrating the ability to handle any difficult situation. And they had strong boundaries which kept our mom safe…and everyone else too.
When it was surmised we needed a new direction, Stacy lined us up with Beth Gwinn who guided us to Creekside Memory Care and Matt Wells!
My brother and I live a great distance away from where our mom is. We are keeping her there because of community and these exceptional professional people.
Stacy would do conference calls with me and my brother anytime of the day and night.

I am extremely grateful to FirstLight Home Care for their excellent, caring service provided following major abdominal surgery in July 2023. With my wife in an assisted living facility, I'm used to being alone and self-reliant. However, … More this surgery made being such much more difficult. I'm glad I let FirstLight assist me in these more trying circumstances. Not only were their representatives' hard workers, but they brought a cheerfulness into my home that helped me deal better with the pain and frustrations experienced following my surgery.
The FirstLight workers were efficient in doing laundry and basic cleaning for me, as well as food preparation. They were proactive in making sure that things were done right. I also had them move some boxes and, under my direction, sort individual document files so that I could later work with them more efficiently. Beyond the temporal tasks, I enjoyed my conversations with them, something I needed as much or more of than just the tasks accomplished. I was treated with kindness and respect and felt like I had family there with me.
I would add that I was impressed with the FirstLight administrator, Stacey Mora, who was both kind and clear as to the services to be rendered and the person(s) who would be with me. I was not disappointed. The apprehension I had prior to their arrival was immediately dispelled. I would recommend FirstLight Home Care to others in similar pain or need. -

The managers want to be there to celebrate with you, cry with you, love with you, etc. They are always asking what they can do to help you achieve your next goal because they really honestly, truly care about the caregivers well-being. This also shows in the way they interact with their clientele. They will go above and beyond to make sure you get matched with the perfect caregiver for your loved one. It's not just "placing bodies" for care, they want everyone to feel comfortable and will move mountains until it's correct. My brother, who lives in New Mexico (I live in Everett, Wa) and mom is in Hayden Idaho , found First light. We called; this was December of 2025. Within 24 hours Stacy and coworker were at mom’s house, for two hours, to do an evaluation. Paperwork was in the mail to me within days. Above and beyond the call of duty people worked to get helpers in the home by the second week in January. Absolutely amazing. Absolute comfort, support and compassion.
Every helper companion was knowledgeable and professional. They had been trained expertly demonstrating the ability to handle any difficult situation. And they had strong boundaries which kept our mom safe…and everyone else too.
When it was surmised we needed a new direction, Stacy lined us up with Beth Gwinn who guided us to Creekside Memory Care and Matt Wells!
My brother and I live a great distance away from where our mom is. We are keeping her there because of community and these exceptional professional people.
Stacy would do conference calls with me and my brother anytime of the day and night.

Not only were their representatives' hard workers, but they brought a cheerfulness into my home that helped me deal better with the pain and frustrations experienced following my surgery.
The FirstLight workers were efficient in doing laundry and basic cleaning for me, as well as food preparation. They were proactive in making sure that things were done right. I also had them move some boxes and, under my direction, sort individual document files so that I could later work with them more efficiently. Beyond the temporal tasks, I enjoyed my conversations with them, something I needed as much or more of than just the tasks accomplished. I was treated with kindness and respect and felt like I had family there with me.
I would add that I was impressed with the FirstLight administrator, Stacey Mora, who was both kind and clear as to the services to be rendered and the person(s) who would be with me. I was not disappointed. The apprehension I had prior to their arrival was immediately dispelled. I would recommend FirstLight Home Care to others in similar pain or need. -

First Light Home Care in Coeur d’Alene provided in-home care for my mom in the last few weeks of her life which enabled her to remain in her home during her final days and weeks. The 24 hour caregivers were truly wonderful with mom’s difficult behaviors due to some dementia issues. They were kind and helpful to her in her fragile state explaining again and again why certain things had to happen. Stacey Mora, director of client care was particularly helpful to the family before care, during and after the provided services. Stacey kindly offered to do many things for the family which lightened the load of preparing for this difficult life journey. It is my personal opinion that Stacey went above and beyond routine business procedures to help us deal with the many unexpected things that popped up to cause us worry. FirstLight home care has a wonderful team! My Mother suffered an injury that required in home care – I live out of state and really was not sure how to set up care remotely- when I spoke with Stacey she took the time to really break down the process and described what services are offered, the training their caregivers receive, the range of services from companionship to meal prep and tidying up the house, to list a few. Stacey was very accommodating with both her knowledge and time- we set up a time for her meet my Mom and we set up FaceTime so I could be present – this worked very well and while we had a few agencies do this – Mom felt very comfortable with Stacey and the information that she provided and we decided on FirstLight- the staff really paid attention and listened to my Mom and then they paired her with caregivers that they felt would be a good fit – I would get frequent updates on scheduling- we did a combination of daytime hours and then a few overnights weekly – this worked out well and really got my Mom to point where she could be independent again- I am very thankful to the team at FirstLight!

Such a great experience with this agency. Caregivers were coming in 5 days a week to help my dad. He loved them all and misses them now that he has moved on to the State Veteran’s Home. There was excellent communication with Stacey, the Director of Client Care, and she was always willing to help. It was very obvious that she genuinely cared. Most of the caregivers were good about documenting the hours they spent with my dad, jotting down how his day went and how he was feeling. I appreciated logging in and reading those care logs on my dad. Overall, I feel this agency went above and beyond and I won’t hesitate to recommend them for any family that needs the extra help with their loved one.
Thankfully 4 years ago we found firstlight after my dad had a stroke. Their knowledge about the Veterans in home care programs were truly invaluable and made the transition for him coming home so much easier.
