FirstLight was invaluable to us in caring for my Mom. I never had to worry about coverage because Amy came through each and every time. Amy has the patience of a saint, and is extremely efficient and skilled in her position. Everyone at FirstLight – Amy, Christina, Meghan, Jennifer (forgive me if I’m forgetting anyone – EVERYONE) were absolutely wonderful and caring and kind and compassionate, and it was very comforting to know we were in such good hands. The caregivers – Andrea, Sandra, Clara, Luisa, were outstanding in the care they gave to my Mom. I know Andrea truly loved my Mom, and my Mom loved her as well. They grew very close during the time Andrea was Mom’s caregiver. Sandra, Clara and Luisa were all so very sweet, attentive, and loving toward my Mom, and I will always be forever grateful to them. I would highly recommend FirstLight to anyone in need of excellent home care. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I miss my Mom terribly and she left a huge void in my heart, but I am comforted by the knowledge that she was in such good hands with FirstLight. God Bless you all.
First Light provided an excellent service for my mother for the past 5 years. the staff are very professional responding quickly to my mother’s needs and concerns. The aides and companions my mother had demonstrated empathy and compassion and would communicate any concerns that they may have with me. FirstLight provided healthcare aides to help us take care of a parent with multiple health issues, in our home, for nearly 10 years. They did an wonderful job of identifying excellent aides, adapting to our changing needs (from daily help to full-time support), providing coverage during planned and unplanned periods when our aides were unavailable, and generally being responsive and available whenever we had questions or needed help. Highly recommended!
The entire team at FirstLight has been excellent. They communicate and constantly keep us informed. They have been attentive and caring, and when my Mother went into the hospital they spoke with me even though it was well after business hours. I cannot say enough about the wonderful aids who have been my Mother’s companions for several years. They are caring, supportive and just fantastic. These are the people that you can trust with your loved one.
I used Firstlight for in home care for my dad who has dementia. I can’t say how pleased I am with the level of care providers they sent to our home. They were loving caring and always available to his every need. The meals they made, keeping his room and surrounding area clean, were all done on a daily immaculate method. They kept him busy with activities, walking and just generally happy. Thank you Julie and Amy for all your hard work. FirstLight has trained and encouraged me in numerous ways and I am grateful for having had the opportunity to be a part of their team. I am a college student studying geriatrics and I have worked for FirstLight HomeCare over the summer months. FirstLight HomeCare helped me gain a better understanding of my field of interest as well as have the opportunity to gain some hands-on experience.
HomeCare allows clients the unique opportunity to stay in a place they are familiar with while still being and feeling safe, and that is very important. I started as a Companion and spent my days doing laundry, running errands, cleaning/tidying the house, but most importantly engaging my clients. Inversely, my clients have served as a role models for me and I am in awe of how interesting and knowledgeable the people I have worked with are. I have loved working with FirstLight HomeCare this summer for so many reasons. Firstly, I learned and developed a fuller knowledge of the responsibilities of home health care while at the same time making some deep personal connections. Secondly, FirstLight is a responsible, organized, and proactive company that provided me with very clear and direct instructions and information that I needed to do to complete my job. FirstLight made me feel safe working for them and knowing they were supportive of not only my client but also of me as a young adult. Furthermore, I do not think that many people are able to say that they feel sad leaving their job, but I know one hundred percent that I am sad about having to leave.
