FirstLight Home was a salvation for me. My injury required use of wheelchair.. The care provider was very friendly and professional. She listened to my needs and helped me to feel comfortable while providing assistance with bathing. She was very gentle and walked me through the preparation. I looked forward to the visits because I knew I would get the care that I needed.

Some days can be difficult, but the staff (my co-workers) are quick to make everyday easier, Linda and Sonya are my favorite people to work with. Alexis is a wonderful person for working around my crazy schedule being a military wife, and Ashley is the BEST director I have ever met. Instead of feeling like I just work, and going into the office expecting a drag. It feel’s more like I walked into a family gathering.
The clients are so lovely, their families are so caring. I love how they treat us caregivers like we belong.

Working for FirstLight Home Care of Jacksonville has been very rewarding! After retiring from my stressful job of thirty years I wanted to keep busy, I also wanted to earn some extra money so my husband and I could do some traveling. FirstLight has the flexibility that allows me to work when I want and are great when I need time off for my family.
The best part about working there is a lot of their clients are Veterans. Even though I didn’t serve in the military, I feel honored to be able to give to those that have given so much for us. I feel that even though I am up in years I still have plenty to give and FirstLight allows me to do that.

Linda is awesome and always always gets any problems or answers you have solved in a timely manner. Alexis is truly a wonderful person, she makes sure to let you know you’re doing an amazing job and you’re appreciated. Sonya is a hoot and will keep you laughing and stays on your hours so nothing is missed. My encounter with all 3 ladies was very pleasant and I enjoy working with them.

FirstLight Home Care takes pride in morale, so we had constant communication and help from the office, which is a plus in work environments like these. I never not once doubted if I was misunderstood, disregarded, or forgotten. Alexis, Lena, Ms. Linda, and Ms. Ashley keep things as calm and as productive as possible so it’s easier for employees to care for clients.

They have been assisting my mother for approximately one year, always eager to help in any way. The aids have assisted with:

First we met L, who was thorough, made us comfortable and gave us confidence in the care my husband D would get!! (This was encouraging after a previous horrible experience with a caregiver from another agency). This was the “first light” in our daily lives in a while!!
D has dementia and is a veteran.
Soon after that, we met D’s caregiver, J. I observed J’s interactions with D and his intentional care! Since that day our lives were changed for the better!! J, also a veteran and D connected with him right away. Not only does he spend time with D, but gets his shower, does his laundry and cleans up after him! This gives me peace of mind that D is well taken care of, but also gives me peace of mind while I am at work, and less stress upon arriving home! Priceless!
We live in an apartment community where neighbors and office staff look out for us. Since J began caring for D, I have received numerous comments from all of them about how happy they are that we have J!! They commented on how kind and attentive he is with D! D seems happy, too!
In addition to excellent care, J gets D out of the apartment and over to the Clubhouse. There, he has engaged D in billiards, card games and (most amazing of all) chess!! D loves chess, but hasn’t played since our children grew up. He used to be quite good. Now, he is fully engaged and winning!! This was unbelievable to me! The brain is incredible. J has found ways to challenge D and give him the best care anyone could ask for!! We feel truly blessed! Thank you FirstLight!!

Good morning. I want to write this review. I want to talk about the entire staff at FLHC Jacksonville . Starting with the administrator Ashley she is a phenomenal young lady. Why i say this is because she takes the time to check on patients to make sure that they are getting the best care. Calling and checking and making sure the nurses they send out work together as one and not individuals. Always asking what can we do to make it better. You don’t find people to do that in this world today. This staff is phenomenal. Ashley demonstrates great leadership. Sharon is a great RN and very familiar with ALS. My caregiver Sheila. She is a blessing from Jesus christ. She is caring and always supporting me from helping me with my chow, bath, etc. She is non stop from the time she comes through my door, and she is phenomenal. I am thankful for the staff at FLHC Jacksonville. On that note thank you. God Bless! Your leader Ashley has set the tone for everyone on your staff. Thank you and God Bless.
PS. They brought a system to my house that is great to help with care. The system is called Sensi. I recommend everyone who needs care to have it installed.
