I contacted First Light to inquire about care for my elderly mom. Danika came to our home and went over everything concerning care for her, what our needs were and the cost of services. She was very professional and caring. My mom’s health improved shortly after so we didn’t use First Light but if the need arises, we would definitely use them for home health care.
When my father entered hospice care, we were overwhelmed and unsure of what to expect. From the moment Alex came into our lives, everything changed for the better. Her presence brought calm, compassion, and a level of care that went far beyond anything we could have hoped for.
Alex cared for my father with incredible tenderness, respect, and dignity. She was attentive to his needs, always patient, and consistently went above and beyond to ensure he was comfortable, supported, and never alone. But what truly set Alex apart was her ability to connect with our entire family. She became more than just a caregiver—she became family.
During the most difficult days, Alex was a steady and comforting presence, not only for my father but for all of us. She offered support, strength, and empathy in ways we will never forget. So much so that when we held my father’s celebration of life, it felt only natural to invite her—because by that point, we couldn’t imagine that day without her.
We are forever grateful for the love and dedication Alex gave our father and our family. Her compassion, professionalism, and heart are unmatched. If you are looking for someone to care for a loved one with true grace and humanity, Alex is that person.

Care coordinator Danika Bull is nothing short of a life saver. Twice she came to my rescue with my aging parents, providing safe and immediate care within almost 24 hours. And that included new intake. This last time just a few weeks ago, she even helped me get my dad to a bedside commode while she was there. If that’s not above and beyond, I can’t imagine what is. She really felt like a member of the family, and our relationship with her was relatively short as my mom was admitted to skilled nursing after 2 visits, and my dad passed away after just one.
The best part is that First light worked with their long-term care policies so that we didn’t have to go through the reimbursement process.
Highly recommend. I will miss her care and compassion.

The task of finding someone who we could trust and rely on was daunting and we had no idea where to start! As soon as I came across First Light they made the process so stress free and everyone in that office is such a joy to work with. They’re ALL so helpful and welcoming with a sense of pride that shows they really love (and are phenomenal at) what they do. I cannot thank you ladies enough for everything you did and continue to do!!! If I could give you a hundred reviews I would gladly spend the time to write them if that meant someone else got the help and attention they needed when having the unfortunate task of finding the perfect person to care and watch over their loved one.

My mother needed around the clock care and FirstLight was a God send. We made a call to their office and the next day they were at our house helping us get set up with the care she needed. The staff has been nothing but genuine and kind, they have been so overly accommodating to all of our needs, even last minute changes and shifts, and the caregivers have all been so wonderful. Truly. This company has gone above and beyond for our family and I am so immensely grateful for the wonderful work they are doing. This is a true review. Stephanie has been a blessing and a great help to me. I don’t know what I’d do without her coming to help me. I look forward to her coming each day she is scheduled. I have had a good experience with all the caregivers that have come to help me.
I am a patient at FirstLight. Prayerfully seeking help with some physical needs, I was led to call FirstLight of Knoxville first. When I called I was greeted with the most tender and loving response. I felt a warmth that simply embraced me with encouragement. We then set up the first meet and greet with one of the workers, and once again, what she explained FirstLight offers was done with love-filled clarity and so unaggressively presented.
For me, connecting with FirstLight has been truly a joyful process. The dear office staff is ever-attentive to situations that demand the need for a sudden change of caregiver – morning, noon, or night – the caregivers have been for the most part so attentive and respectful in my home. Matching people up so it meets the need of both care-giver and patient, takes great skill and perception, both of which have been demonstrated through my time with this wonderful company. I don’t hold false hopes for a perfect fit every time, but whenever I have called with a concern regarding a caregiver and expressed my need for a different atmosphere more conducive to my specific need for healing, they have always solved it quite quickly and effectively. These shifts time, have proved to be what is best for all.
I, too, am praying daily to learn how to be a better, more humble patient, supportive of the caregivers. It is not just one-sided. I’m grateful to be learning how to receive with more grace. This is part of my own spiritual growth as I navigate this scene. I am grateful to know there is always a bigger-picture to all our trials and when we become aware of what problem we are really solving, the real healing takes place – even if only by degrees.

We had trouble finding a good caregiving agency, until we connected with FirstLight. Danika came out right away to do a home evaluation and was so sweet and helped us get set up. The caregivers have always been great. Our main caregiver right now is Cheyenne and she is such a hard worker and caring. She is always doing things around our home to help out. She always helps my husband get ready and goes with him to his appointments. Chelsea and the other staff are great at communicating and flexible. I also love, that I have access to a portal and I can see which caregiver is coming next. I would recommend FirstLight to everyone.

I would like to brag on the caregivers that have been taking care of my mother. They are all beyond excellent Lauren Conforti is retirng and will be sorely missed. Chyanne Brock is an all star and is always, always there. Susan Williams is a really good one as well. Taylor Conforti has taken another job, but she was very reliable. Rebbecca Johnson only comes on saturday but is another great one. And Cara Huggins while relatively new to us, does a fantastic job. Please pass this on the the higher ups.
