David Kapojos

FirstLight Home Care of Pasadena, CA is proudly owned and operated by David Kapojos. David was a former US Army soldier with multiple deployments. He opened FirstLight of Pasadena as a legacy to his late Father who was a physician and diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

“Our family were struggling with his care since it was hard finding caregivers who are trustworthy and have the passion and compassion to serve others. I want to continue my Dad’s legacy. I served my country and now it is the time to serve my community.”

David is committed to helping the people in Greater Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley to have a higher quality of life in their later years by providing compassionate home care services. His personal experience with his Father has made him able to relate to the stress that family members encounter when searching for the right home care agency and caregiver for their loved one.

Joyce Tabije

Joyce is the Operations Manager/Care Coordinator. She interact and assist FirstLight Home Care clients with different types of needs to get the best quality care they deserve at the comfort of their own home, hospital or facility setting. Her goal is to cater a quality non-medical home care service that can make a difference in our clients’ lives tailored at their best interests. Their genuine health, safety and comfortability is her top priority making sure to match them with our experienced and passionate caregivers to help them cope with their ADLs and other needs. She also assist with billing and payroll in finalizing reports and accuracy, conduct in-home visits prior to starting care and screen, interview, orient and hire caregivers from time-to-time.
Joyce has 18 years of experience working in a healthcare industry with an extensive background in a long term care setting dealing with seniors and elders with different walks of life for 14 years.
She enjoy the outdoors and scenic views/nature. Joyce play the tambourine but would love to learn to play the guitar. She loves karaoke and singing is one of her passion and she has joined few singing contest in the past and used to be a lead singer in her school band. Joyce love swimming but she can’t hold her breath too long.
Joyce take pride of her job and she couldn’t be more happier knowing that she can make a difference in the client’s lives even in the simplest possible way she can. To her, this is a rewarding job and it’s just priceless!

Jacqueline Burnson

Jacqueline Burnson is the Director of Community Relations at FirstLight Home Care of Pasadena. Jacqueline has been in the Home Healthcare industry for 17 years and loves what she does.
For schooling, Jacqueline got her start at Citrus College where she got her CNA license. She then graduated with her Associates in Nursing with a Minor in Social and Behavioral Science. She worked in Home Health and Hospice for many years after that.
Next Jacqueline received her Bachelors at Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Marketing Management. Her focus was Brand Management where she learned how to Brand a Company. She loved Cal Poly’s motto of “Learn by Doing” and was called a “Creative” by her Teachers.
Now her focus is to be the face for FirstLight Home Care. She feels that her education in Behavioral Science has helped her with connecting Clients with the right Caregiver. One of her assignments is to meet with referral sources to go over our quality of care. She also meets with Clients and their Families to create an individualized Care Plan and can arrange discharge and resources if needed. With active Clients, Jacqueline oversees their care and she makes sure all needs are met and Families are happy.
Jacqueline is also very busy with her involvement in the community and giving back. She currently is a Fiduciary Member of Pasadena, 3rd Generation DAR Member, a Board Member at USC Keck Hospital for the Women’s Council, BBC Member, Arcadia Chamber, Pasadena Chamber, TEAM, local charities/churches and Nonprofits are just to name a few of Jacqueline’s involvements.
In her spare time, Jacqueline enjoys traveling with her Husband Alex and Daughter Arya. She also enjoys kayaking, working out, going to Church events, cooking, and eating sushi.
