When I tell you that FirstLight has high level care, it’s not lip service or an exaggeration. My mother had spinal stenosis surgery a few years ago and has been in need of professional care. That means the type of care loved ones cannot provide because they lack the proper knowledge, training and experience required for the betterment of the person in need.
FirstLight was my first call based on online reviews and after I hung up with the owner, Chelsea, I felt cautiously optimistic they could help my Mom. I’m sure Chelsea had better things to do on a Saturday, but she suggested visiting on the weekend to my parents home and met with us for about an hour or two. We appreciated that she took time away from her Saturday to help guide us through this process.
Taylor has also been very instrumental in helping us with getting the right care giver in place. We now have Cinthia watching over my mom and she’s been excellent! Whenever I show up at my parent’s house, she is always keeping herself busy. She is a self starter for sure!
Bottom line, if you’re worried the home care company you are considering for hire will treat your relative or loved like he or she is the last priority, you might want to make FirstLight your first phone call. I did that and my Mom is happy!
If you are in need of a home healthcare company I highly recommmend First Light Homecare . I had tried other home healthcare companies that did not meet the professionalism, care and support. My overnight caregivers Weini and Hasifa give me the peace of mind I need so I can get sleep for six months now. Heather is great playing crossword puzzles and listening to poetry with my dad. Shellye is great handling the family dynamics. All the caregivers get along. This company is absolutely incredible. My mother was in the final stages of her battle with cancer, and while it was obviously very emotional, it was also highly unpredictable In terms of how much help we would need and the ability to provide notice on the changes happening on a daily basis. Taylor was extremely flexible with scheduling to provide care however needed, and also very compassionate every step of the way. Our scheduled caretaker Myah was also extremely loving and kind to my mother. Although she actually only had one day with her before my mother quickly declined, I know that even that brief interaction was very helpful and appreciated. She provided companionship and love, as well as the quality of caretaking my mom desperately needed in her final days. I am so grateful for this team and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality caretaker for their loved ones who genuinely cares about their wellbeing and is willing to get outside the box however necessary.

Chelsea was so easy to work with and so helpful with finding the right person and scheduling her. I live in New York State and my son lives in Tempe Arizona. My son has some physical disabilities and needed help with laundry, cleaning, sorting and disposal of some items and general organization of his home. Jennifer was outstanding… According to my son, she was willing to work very hard to help him… She was kind, patient, respectful and efficient. If Jennifer ever wonders if her work makes a difference, trust me when I tell you, it made a huge difference to myself and my son. From across the country, I felt great relief knowing that he had the help that he needed. She represents your company well! My deepest gratitude to Jennifer, Chelsea and FirstLight Home Care!
This organization is excellent. The office staff is extremely easy to work with and always available. They are always very patient with me, even when I call with either minor or major changes to our caregiver’s schedule. Carrie, our regular caregiver, is superb. She is extraordinarily reliable and always punctual. She feels like a friend, not like an employee.
My experience with FirstLight HomeCare of Scottsdale was an excellent one. In fact 5 stars in not enough in this case 6/5 would be more accurate.
When Charity arrived and began her professional caregiving for my sister-in -law, she quickly picked up the style of caregiving that my sister-in-law needed and desired without any prompting. She built a professional bond with her, made her feel special and listened attentively to her questions, concerns and desires, giving her kind and honest responses.
In addition to taking excellent care of her, Charity also was very kind, thoughtful and strategic in the way that she cared for friends and family.
Charity was not able to be with us very long, as she accompanied my sister in law to hospice and she soon passed.She performed many unforgettable acts of kindness including notifying family and friends that it was time to come from various states to see her before she passed. Her brother and I would not have made it time to have those precious moments with her if Charity hadn’t notified us. I found Charity to be multi talented, well trained as a caregiver, very bright and emotionally intelligent. She was easily able to navigate difficult family situations and focus on what mattered. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for the best possible quality of care available for their loved one.
Staff was very professional and friendly wonderful experience
I rarely write reviews, but First Light is so exceptional that I had to let others know how incredibly wonderful they are. Every person is professional and really cares about what they are doing. This is not just a job to them. My husband formed a very special bond with his caregiver which really helped both of us through a very difficult time. They go above and beyond to help in every way they can.
We were beyond pleased with the kind and compassionate caregiving that our mother received from Firstlight Home Care. Every interaction we had with them – whether from Chelsea and Taylor in the office to the caregivers was exceptional! They were so flexible with our changing schedule and always quickly responsive to our communications.
Hasifa and Juanita get a special recognition for their wonderful care. The peace of mind we had during this period was truly a blessing! Thank you all again!!

FirstLight began with a phone call to the agency and the voice on the other end was Taylor. She had a gift of compassion that I sensed immediately. Her kindness went far beyond the phone call as I reached out to her many times organizing care for my husband. I so appreciated her and everything that she did for us. The caregivers that she sent were amazing, especially Jasmine, who our family came to love because of her gentle kind and loving care of my husband. My husband passed away last week and Jasmine even came to the funeral. I can’t say enough for this beautiful organization I would highly recommend them for care of their loved ones.
Amy has been such an amazing help. She really goes above and beyond keeping my dad engaged and active. She always keeps us informed and up to date. I don’t live close to my dad currently which concerned me but knowing Amy is there does help put me at ease!

First Light provided reliable and caring support through our final week’s with my sister before she passed away. Taylor, our contact person was always available and proactive in making sure that my sister’s needs were met. Because my none of us lived near my sister it was important to have reliable care and communication. Taylor consistently communicated in a compassionate and caring manner.
The care giver, Charity, who came to care for my sister in what turned out to be her final 3 days was an angel sent from above. She was completely committed to caring for my sister with compassion and positivity. She tended to my sister’s needs and never left her side in those 3 days. But, more than that she also tended to her soul with love and wisdom, helping my sister to connect with family and friends who were not able to be present. Charity communicated with me every step of the way and impressing on those of us who were able to come that my sister’s time left was short, so that we were able to get there before she passed. No one knew how short her time was. We all thought she would have another couple weeks. including the hospice doctor. But, Charity sensed that it was urgent for us to come. Because of Charity, my sister’s final days were filled with love and care and my brother and I were able to visit with my sister before she departed. I will be forever grateful to her for all that she did for my sister and our family❣️

We recently used FirstLight Home Care of Scottsdale for the caring of my grandfather while on vacation in Arizona and highly recommend to anyone in need of a caregiver. The overall experience was just fabulous and having care set up really allowed my family to have peace of mind while traveling. From the initial call, Taylor really took the time to listen to what we needed in terms of care for my grandfather and matched her staff flawlessly. Donovan, Lauren, Janet and Carrie, were caregivers that assisted us during our stay. All were punctual, kind and patient with my grandfather. I really appreciated Taylor’s exceptional service during the stay as well as she was in constant communication, checking in to see how the caregivers were working with my grandfather. FirstLight’s caregivers were able to get my mom to interact, go outside, and eat when I couldn’t. First time using a home care service for mom… Didn’t know what to expect…I can assure you I made a great decision with this company… the owners make the first assessment visit and are very pleasant and thorough… mom’s care giver is Georgia (Gege) and she and mom get along so well… just a spectacular woman with a heart of gold… gets mom showered and cleaned up, sorts her clean laundry into daily piles, cleans up s few areas of mom’s and then they just hang out… it’s wonderful. Worth every penny.

I have a very dear friend who used FirstLight for her husband up until the day he passed. The care that he received was TOP notch, but what stood out the most in all that I witnessed was the professionalism and compassion that each caregiver brought, every time they came through the door. This took an enormous amount of pressure off during one of the hardest times of my friend’s life and helped lighten her load.
The entire staff, caregivers and office, were able to take some of the burden away which enabled her to just love her husband.
I will always recommend FirstLight to anyone who is in need of care, whether it be help with housework or shopping, errands or complete care for a loved one.

I received Jenn’s contact information through a home health service agency. It was the best thing that ever happened to our family for the care of my father who has dementia and is 93 years old. Jenn has been very patient, honest and straightforward and has spent a lot of time speaking with me and answering all my questions and giving advice.She has been in this Caregiver industry for decades and she knows what she’s doing. She is a very lovely person and truly cares for the family and person who needs caregiving.
Our caregiver Weini is wonderful. She keeps my father engaged through different activities, such as reading, puzzles, physical activities, and I see a tremendous difference in my father. This company was wonderful to work with! I was having trouble finding a company that would provide four hour care to and from a procedure. I spoke with Sam and he assured me that FirstLight would be able to assist. Sam contacted his billing department to see the most effective way to bill me. I appreciated the time and care that he gave me. I was assigned to Marisha that showed up on time and was a delight. My procedure took longer than I had anticipated and Marisha was flexible and waiting patiently to drive me home. I will definitely use FirstLight in the future and strongly recommend them!

Angels walk among us. Even as I write this review, I have tears of gratitude in my eyes. I honestly don’t know what I would have done, nor what condition my mother would be in, had I not found Dawn and First Light Home Care. Caring for a loved one with Dementia is heart wrenching, stressful, exhausting, confusing, crazy-making, upsetting…… you feel lost in a sea of information, or lack of information and you try desperately to make good choices, but not all those choices around care facilities in particular manifest the way you had hoped. The facility that I selected did not turn out to be able to provide the care my mother needed. I was frantic trying to keep her safe, properly fed, calm and so importantly, provided with her medications at the right time – and then I found First Light. Honestly, I call them my angels – the care, compassion and communication is beyond anything I have found and I have had to work with private care providers over the years in different setting and states (including California). The care we were provided by First Light was life changing for both my mother and me.
