At FirstLight, Brian combines community roots with professional care to give families peace of mind.

For Brian, home care is personal. His experiences assisting his grandparents, clients and friends maneuver through home care services along with working within healthcare showed him how much difference compassion and reliability make in people’s lives. That’s why he brought FirstLight Home Care to the Sylvania–Perrysburg area communities — to make sure families have a trusted partner they can count on.

Brian brings more than 25 years of executive leadership and entrepreneurial experience to FirstLight Home Care of Sylvania–Perrysburg, but what truly drives him is his heart for service. Throughout his career, he has combined operational expertise with a passion for people, always focused on building organizations that improve lives and strengthen communities. As a longtime Toledo community leader, he’s served on multiple nonprofit boards, mentored young professionals, and received national recognition for volunteerism. As a servant leader, he is dedicated to helping people — whether it’s supporting clients, empowering caregivers, or giving back to the community.

Jennifer Bishop/Administrator Operations Manager

At FirstLight, Jennifer ensures every caregiver-client match is built for trust and consistency.

Jennifer brings over two decades of experience in home care staffing, workforce optimization, and team development to her role as Administrator and Operations Manager at FirstLight Home Care of Sylvania–Perrysburg. With a background in caregiver scheduling, recruitment, compliance, and staff engagement, Jennifer has built a career on improving operations while keeping people — clients and caregivers — at the center of every decision.

Having served in leadership roles with several home care and skilled nursing organizations in California, Jennifer developed expertise in scheduling strategies, compliance, and caregiver-client matching — all critical to delivering reliable, compassionate care. Jennifer is recognized for designing scalable processes that reduce stress for caregivers, strengthen communication, and improve client outcomes. She has implemented streamlined case assignment systems, onboarding programs that boost retention, and caregiver appreciation initiatives that foster loyalty and teamwork. At FirstLight, she combines that operational knowledge with her strong communication skills and passion for building community.

A Toledoan and graduate of the University of Toledo, Jennifer has returned to Northwest Ohio to bring her skills back home. She is dedicated to supporting FirstLight caregivers so they can thrive — and ensure families receive the consistent, high-quality care they deserve.
