They also performed a full walk-through at the start to make sure all my needs and safety considerations were understood.
FirstLight has been incredibly flexible with scheduling and consistently goes above and beyond to accommodate my needs. Their level of professionalism far exceeds what I expected in this industry. They take their work seriously, and it shows in every interaction—they’re friendly, reliable, and always focused on my comfort and dignity.
If I ever need home care services again, I would choose FirstLight without hesitation. To me, they feel like an insurance policy you can count on. If an unexpected situation comes up—such as a bathroom accident—they handle it with compassion, efficiency, and even a smile.
What truly sets FirstLight apart is how differently they operate compared to other companies. When I was researching home care providers, many places gave canned responses, focused on limitations, or emphasized rules and regulations before anything else. FirstLight was the complete opposite: attentive, solutions-driven, and focused on what they could do to help me, not what they couldn’t.
If I ever have an issue with a caregiver, they immediately take action to ensure I’m completely satisfied. They always aim to please and are committed to delivering customized care tailored to each client’s unique needs. Their hands-on approach and dedication to excellence make them stand out in what is otherwise a very saturated industry.
Another major advantage is that I have a direct phone number to reach someone immediately whenever I have a question or concern—no phone trees, no runaround, just real people who are ready to help.

In addition, they offer regular companionship visits, medication reminders, grocery shopping and meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry assistance, errands and transportation, mail and paperwork organization, live-in services, 24-hour care, and family respite care. -

He spent a significant amount of time advocating, making calls, and trying to help us figure out a way to make it work. The truth is—he didn’t have to do any of that. Many business owners would have simply left us to figure it out on our own. But that’s not the kind of person Brian is.
It was very clear to us that his heart is truly in serving families. His kindness, patience, and willingness to go the extra mile meant so much to us during a stressful time.
Unfortunately, because of insurance limitations we aren’t able to use their services regularly right now, but we absolutely plan to use FirstLight out-of-pocket whenever we can. When you find someone who genuinely cares about people the way Brian does, you hold on to that.
