I especially appreciated that they were able to help me locate a bi-lingual caregiver who spoke in our native tongue, making it easier for my loved one to communicate.
FirstLight also offered personalized care plans tailored to my loved one's unique needs, as well as seamless communication and responsiveness from the caregiving team.
Overall, FirstLight Home Care of Virginia Beach has been a vital support for our family while we located the right facility to permanently place our loved one. If you're looking for assistance with your loved one, I highly recommend their services! -

They sent me a magnificent caregiver named Joy. She was always on time and was … More very personable. In addition, she was very professional in performing her duties. I was very impressed with the organization! They are definitely one of the best in this field! Think of the name FirstLight when looking for personal care as you will not be disappointed. I sincerely feel you will not find another organization that is this fully staffed and as professional as they are. The referral from friends/word of mouth, is much more reliable than interviewing many companies. Trust me, they delivered on everything they said they were going to do and more! After back surgery, my mom needs help getting around. Gloria has provided the BEST peace of mind while I am at work knowing that Mom is not home alone. Gloria is a great companion and she takes care of not only the human, but also the senior … More citizen Cat in residence. She and mom have great conversations, and Gloria helps ME immensely keeping the kitchen and laundry up to date. This is not only caregiving for the patient, but also for ME because otherwise I would have lost my mind trying to keep up with everything. Gloria has been a guardian angel for BOTH of us. -

Matt has dedicated numerous hours reviewing information with me, providing guidance on additional services, and outlining next steps. His expertise in veteran care is unparalleled, and something that can be incredibly challenging to navigate alone.
The peace of mind we have felt knowing he was in capable hands starting from our very first night 2 months ago with Joy has been invaluable. Two weeks ago Joy suggested a blood clot may be forming in my grandfathers leg, and alerted us immediately of her concerns. We cannot thank her enough for saving his life.
We are also deeply grateful to Anne for her outstanding care, as she and Joy provided the peace of mind we all truly needed overnight our first month. Anne also made several days brighter for my grandfather when she graciously picked up additional day shifts.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to Dana for her outstanding care; her uplifting spirit provides immense comfort and reassurance to our family. Johnna’s commitment to provide daily, consistent care has been so helpful in his recovery. Asia has also become a wonderful addition, fitting seamlessly into the overnight care team. Deborah has been an incredible fit from the moment she walked through the door.
It is evident the caregivers are passionate about their work and truly committed to making a positive impact with my grandfather for our family. We would also like to thank Jurnee, Adrienne, Andrina, Shameir, Lashonda, Octavia, Kiara, Thelma, and Nellys for their excellent care of my grandfather, kindness, and the reassuring support for the entire family. -
