FirstLight Home Care Partners with the Aging Life Care Association®

The national home care provider is a proud industry supporter of Aging Life Care™ management

FirstLight Home Care, a leading provider of home care services, is proud to announce its corporate partnership with the Aging Life Care Association®.

Aging Life Care™ management, also known as geriatric care management, is a holistic, client-centered approach to caring for older adults or others facing ongoing health challenges.

Aging Life Care Professionals® (sometimes referred to as geriatric care managers) have a wide range of educational and professional backgrounds with a specialized focus on challenges associated with aging and disabilities. Through consultation, assessment, care coordination and advocacy, an Aging Life Care Professional works with clients and families to address these challenges. Their guidance helps families with key decisions that can ensure quality care and quality of life for their loved ones.

“This partnership gives our local FirstLight Home Care offices across the country valuable resources, as well as access to Aging Life Care Professionals who have the expertise to not only provide the appropriate support, information and services, but to also help answer the questions families often have during a time of uncertainty,” said Erin Sullivan, Executive Director Strategic Partnerships at FirstLight Home Care.

FirstLight delivers companion care and personal care services to aging seniors and other adults in the place they call home. But sometimes family caregivers need a broader scope of services or additional expertise in caring for a loved one to help reduce worry, stress and time off of work.

Marianne Christman owns and operates FirstLight Home Care of Central Ohio with her husband, Lyndon, and has been working with Aging Life Care Professionals for several years.

“The relationship we have has been a true partnership built on trust, respect and communication,” said Christman. “We all share the same goal – to help adults and their families live well as they face the challenges of aging. “We are happy to work together with geriatric care managers to provide the best care and quality of life to our clients and let them age in place, wherever that may be.”

“We are pleased that FirstLight has chosen to partner with the Aging Life Care Association®, the Experts in Aging Well®, said Julie Wagner, CEO of the Aging Life Care Association. “When home care providers and Aging Life Care Managers® work collaboratively, the family and client may rest assured that they will receive the best possible care.
