They were always there. I was always able to depend on them, which took a lot of the stress off. Sometimes it would be like carrying an extra backpack. But once Cynthia put her feet in the door, it was like I was able to take that backpack off because I knew everything was going to be OK.
FirstLight was given to me as an option through the Veterans Administration, and they were sensational. They came in, listened to what needed to be done and they came up with a plan for my father, what I felt he needed at the time.
I chose FirstLight because taking care of my husband was difficult. He was falling down and I was not able to pick him up. And that was tough because this is your loved one and you’re supposed to be doing this. FirstLight helped us get through life a little easier.
