Carter Jons - Owner / Managing Director

Carter Jons is devoted to his community. He is the one who likes to bring people together – to make sure this friend gets to know this other friend and make sure they are always smiling.

He was known as Mr. Carter as an elementary teacher for 10 years in the US and abroad. He knows there are many people out there who still remember him as their favorite teacher, whether it is because of his humor, his commitment to meeting students where they were, or because of his caring and positive demeanor. He was also involved in various roles in the family paper and packaging distribution business spending, many long days with the customer service, sales, supply chain, operations and warehouse teams. He then was a software consultant and project manager helping companies implement and optimize their ERP systems.

After watching his father slip into dementia over the last 10 years, he re-evaluated his place in the community. Carter made the decision to give back, to have a higher purpose and return to a place where he could form meaningful relationships and bring joy every day. As the Owner of FirstLight Home Care of Boise, he is committed to offering a higher level of care.

Carter is married to his lovely wife Ashley and they have 2 wonderful kids – Oscar and Coco. He loves to be outside –  mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, trail running, camping, fishing, golfing and all the fun things that make Idaho such a special place. You would be hard pressed not to feel his positive energy, enthusiasm and the love he puts out into the world.

He holds a B.S. from Bates College and an M.Ed. from Framingham State University.

Kimra Rogers - Client Care Manager

As a proud Idaho native, Kimra Rogers has developed a deep-rooted appreciation for the Treasure Valley and the people who call it home. With over 16 years of first-hand clinical experience, she has been privileged to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse settings. She has a passion for building meaningful connections with a servant’s heart for hospice patients. She strives to embody empathy, grace and respect in all her actions while delivering extraordinary care that surpasses the expectations of clients and families. Kimra feels blessed to collaborate with caregivers who are dedicated to delivering exceptional care to our clients while fostering her personal growth along the way.

Kimra has been married for 37 years to her husband Rob. She had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom raising her 3 exceptional sons, but was also active supporting the family plumbing business. In the spring of 2016 Kimra received a diagnosis of a rare, man-made form of cancer, BIA-ALCL, and she took on the challenge of fighting for her life. This marked the beginning of her journey as an advocate for women worldwide. Kimra openly shares her experience of overcoming cancer and has paved the way for a more compassionate approach to caregiving, forging deep connections with others.

In her free time, Kimra loves digging in the dirt and has become obsessed with dahlias. She loves sharing joy to all with bountiful bouquets each season and witnessing the delight on everyone’s faces. Kimra finds great happiness in creative pursuits such as interior design and mastering a chosen recipe. She’s also a fan of watching a thrilling football game and sharing her culinary skills with her family and friends.  She smiles more than just about anyone you have met – it is infectious!

Mikaila Miller - Client Care Specialist

Mikaila brings 15 years of experience in healthcare and a genuine passion for supporting others with compassion, patience, and understanding.

Mikaila’s journey has been shaped not only by her professional background, but also by her life as a dedicated mom of three and a proud military wife. She is a C.N.A. and has worked in roles throughout the health care and senior care industry. Being part of a military family has instilled in her a strong sense of resilience, adaptability, and commitment. Through this experience, she has developed a deep appreciation for service, sacrifice, and the importance of strong support systems—values she carries into her work every day.

Her personal and professional experiences allow her to build meaningful connections not only with clients, but with caregivers as well. She understands the vital role caregivers play and values the trust, communication, and teamwork it takes to provide the best possible care.

When she’s not working, you’ll find Mikaila on the sidelines at the baseball or football field, cheering on her kids and enjoying time with her family with a huge smile and big heart.

Chris Jons M.D. - Chief Medical Consultant

Chris Jons is a physician specializing in palliative care. He is delighted to work with his brother Carter and the FirstLight team to help families take the best possible care of their loved ones. Through his 20 years as a physician, he has had lots of training in the medical and psychosocial aspects of aging and loss, but learned the most about caring for families from being a son: watching and supporting his parents bravely navigate the uncertain terrain of dementia and caregiving. He has seen some of the gaps in the healthcare system, and how often the most basic needs are the most difficult to provide. He is instrumental is advising all of us on these gaps and providing guidance and education for the FirstLight Team. Chris is thrilled to support all of us as we dedicate every day to bringing joy to the families we serve in the Boise Area.

Chris practices in Missoula, MT, where he lives with my amazing wife and 2 great sons. He has a B.S. from Tufts University, an M.D. from Dartmouth College and completed his fellowship in Palliative and Hospice Care at the University of Rochester.

Izzy - The Real Boss

Izzy only gets to come to office every once in a while. She is a joy to have with her adorable, playful ways keeping everyone happy. While Carter thinks he might be the boss, and Kimra knows she is the boss, Izzy truly runs the show. She spreads her splendor and love like a wildfire.
