I contacted FirstLight in August of this year. My 92-year-old father was in the process of dying from laryngeal cancer. He was receiving in home hospice and I needed someone to stay with him one day a week for a few hours while I went … More shopping and ran errands.
The person I spoke with on the phone was kind and caring. I explained the situation and was told the owner would soon be in touch. Right away Girish (the owner of FirstLight) called me back. The next day he came to our home to meet with us and access our needs. Girish was a pleasure to deal with. We were assigned an excellent aide named Lee. Later that week Lee came over and I did my errands. When I returned my father made it clear that he had enjoyed Lee’s company and that she was attentive to his needs. The following week Lee promptly arrived and I once again left for four hours. Before leaving and after returning I got a chance to talk with Lee and she made an excellent impression. Once again this visit went well. I should note that during these two weeks I had a few interactions with the office staff. Each interaction was positive. The staff at FirstLight truly care as does the owner. Their billing process is transparent as well as fair.
Sadly, my father had to enter hospice after a fall on August 31st. He passed away a few days later.
Even though I only had services from FirstLight for two weeks I wish to let those know in a similar situation that this is an excellent agency to do business with. -

If not for the agency, she would have needed to move to a 'facility' rather than being able to live out this year (except for the final 2 days) in her home of 30+ years, which she loved. Our caregiver (Kadian) was kind, patient, loving – everything we could have wished for (and more). The agency's owner (Girish) was always available for questions, and communication was great. The few times Kadian needed a break, they sent a reliable substitute. All in all, our having hired FirstLight made what could have been a really awful year for the whole family much more bearable, and we will be forever grateful for having found them. -

Girish was personable and kind and caring to a degree quite surprising and refreshing for a business of any type. I even commented on that to him, and he explained that he had had enough of typical corporate culture. While maintaining professionalism gracefully, Anarosa was a warm and delightful and reassuring presence, willing to help with whatever I needed. At my suggestion, we listened to some music together, and she got me a little more current, ha. Conversely, I introduced her to some new (vegan) foods. Her conviviality made me feel more distant from the physical crisis that caused me to need the temporary homecare. Now THAT'S an accomplishment!
At every interaction with both, they gave the impression that they were most concerned about MY needs, being flexible and gracious regarding all possible. In addition, each of them couldn't say enough positive things about each other, ie., employer and employee. Sadly, that is hardly a given in too many work environments, and also speaks much about this company's distinctly kind culture.
Based on the extremely positive experience that I had, I frankly could not recommend them more highly! If you need home care assistance, it's hard for me to imagine someone not feeling as I have.

The person I spoke with on the phone was kind and caring. I explained the situation and was told the owner would soon be in touch. Right away Girish (the owner of FirstLight) called me back. The next day he came to our home to meet with us and access our needs. Girish was a pleasure to deal with. We were assigned an excellent aide named Lee. Later that week Lee came over and I did my errands. When I returned my father made it clear that he had enjoyed Lee’s company and that she was attentive to his needs. The following week Lee promptly arrived and I once again left for four hours. Before leaving and after returning I got a chance to talk with Lee and she made an excellent impression. Once again this visit went well. I should note that during these two weeks I had a few interactions with the office staff. Each interaction was positive. The staff at FirstLight truly care as does the owner. Their billing process is transparent as well as fair.
Sadly, my father had to enter hospice after a fall on August 31st. He passed away a few days later.
Even though I only had services from FirstLight for two weeks I wish to let those know in a similar situation that this is an excellent agency to do business with. -

I even commented on that to him, and he explained that he had had enough of typical corporate culture. While maintaining professionalism gracefully, Anarosa was a warm and delightful and reassuring presence, willing to help with whatever I needed. At my suggestion, we listened to some music together, and she got me a little more current, ha. Conversely, I introduced her to some new (vegan) foods. Her conviviality made me feel more distant from the physical crisis that caused me to need the temporary homecare. Now THAT'S an accomplishment!
At every interaction with both, they gave the impression that they were most concerned about MY needs, being flexible and gracious regarding all possible. In addition, each of them couldn't say enough positive things about each other, ie., employer and employee. Sadly, that is hardly a given in too many work environments, and also speaks much about this company's distinctly kind culture.
Based on the extremely positive experience that I had, I frankly could not recommend them more highly! If you need home care assistance, it's hard for me to imagine someone not feeling as I have.

We decided to contact First Light Home Care after another agency was not offering the best care for our dad. We met with Girish and explained our needs which he promised would be met. Not only did he listen he kept his promise and has sent caregivers that meet our needs and give quality care to my father. We are happy with quality of service and the attention that is given to my father’s needs. I highly recommend First Light Home Care.
My father did not anticipate needing homecare after his knee surgery. A few hours after he came back from the hospital, we reached out to Girish. Luckily, Girish was personally able to provide a consultation the same day and start homecare for the same night. My father had full time care for one week and was very happy with the homecare workers assigned to his care. I would highly recommend FirstLight Home Care of Boston Northwest.
Girish and the team at FirstLight have been great. The home care providers have been top notch. The communication and willingness to work with me to accommodate my mom’s needs has been easy to navigate and has made life less stressful knowing they have our best interest in mind! I highly reccomend.

We have had a really great experience with FirstLight! The caregivers they have sent to be with our family members have been great (really better than we had even hoped!). The office staff are so responsive. Phone calls are answered or returned very quickly, and they are incredibly responsive to our needs and address any questions we have.
