FirstLight
HomeCare of West Suburban Boston, along with Rogerson House, is hosting a CEU Program, “How to Accommodate and Mediate Aging in the Family”, on Friday, November 6th from 1pm to 3pm at Rogerson House in Jamaica Plain.
Our program will provide 1.5 CEUs for social workers, but will enable all participants to initiate conversations with clients and caregivers about difficult issues around aging, capacity, safety, and mobility. This tool can be used by families in crisis and those seeking to avoid crisis.
We put the program together with two experienced family mediators and attorneys, Ellen Waldorf and Deborah Danger. Ellen has helped families in transition through her mediation practice for 14 years. Deborah is an estate planning attorney who has served as a care manager to elder clients transitioning to assisted living. She also mediates among families on issues like the distribution of an estate, easing tensions brought on by illness or death, and transitioning family members into age and capacity appropriate living situations. Ellen and Deborah will lead this engaging program through role playing exercises, assisted by Wendy Adlerstein, LSW, FirstLight Home Care’s Director of Client Care Services.
If you are a professional interested in attending, you can RSVP to Janice Skelley at Rogerson House at [email protected] or 617-983-2300.
