Debby Toto serves as FirstLight HomeCare’s Human Resources Specialist and is responsible for the recruitment of our caregiver staff including the identification, screening and on-boarding of the most talented, hard-working and compassionate care team members. Debby also conducts and maintains all procedures and requirements of the hiring process and advises the office team on retaining our wonderful caregiver talent.
Prior to joining FirstLight HomeCare, Debby served in a variety of roles in the Human Resources field, including as a recruiter in Boston’s financial district, as a Human Resources Generalist for an insurer, followed by working as a Human Resources Manager with a high-tech start-up. In addition, Debby has worked as an Assistant Teacher at a local preschool where she supported and developed curriculum for a special needs student.
Throughout her childhood, Debby had a close relationship with her grandparents, and in recent years she has assisted her mother who has had a barrage of challenging health diagnoses, and age-related mobility issues.
Debby holds a B.A. from Florida Atlantic University in Arts and Humanities. She is the Co-Chair of Fundraising for Gifts of Hope Unlimited Inc., a non-profit whose mission is to support and assist individuals affected by relationship violence to gain access to resources for a safe and empowered future.
Debby and her husband John live west of Boston and are the proud parents of two daughters, one of whom just graduated from The University of Georgia and the other just completed her freshman year at Georgetown University.
