We continue our series (our fourth post) with Q&A on Care with Wendy, where our Executive Director and Co-Owner Wendy Adlerstein answers frequently asked questions about FirstLight Home Care of West Suburban Boston services.
This week she will be discussing the how care is scheduled.
Q: How is care scheduled and is it flexible?
A: Care is scheduled on an ongoing basis to help to ensure consistency with caregivers. Of course, we understand that life happens and changes need to be made. To help with communication and real-time changes to a schedule, you will be assigned a care coordinator. The care coordinator oversees the caregivers assigned to your schedule and will make adjustments as needed. While we are very flexible to changing needs, we encourage our clients to maintain a consistent schedule so that we can assign a caregiver to be there on an ongoing basis and build the relationship and routine for care. Your care coordinator will do regular check-ins with you, whether it’s a quick phone call or email, to ensure that your caregiver and schedule are meeting your needs and expectations.
Learn the differences between Personal Care, Companion Care, and Dementia Care. Or what is often called Respite Care which can involve elements of all three areas.
