Recipients of this award prioritize training for their staff, leading to more skilled, engaged employees.
FirstLight Home Care of West Suburban Boston earned this award through a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development through the Activated Insights training program for at least three months. We maintained a minimum of 10 staff members actively engaged in learning on the platform each year. During our first year implementing the program, eight team members successfully completed the Activated Insights training.
Activated Insights training is a comprehensive, web-based learning management system designed to enhance caregiver competency, support professional development, and improve workforce retention. The platform offers more than 400 specialized, RN-developed courses that provide evidence-based education aligned with industry best practices. Access is available to active employees upon completion of their first 90 days of employment.
Our organization utilizes a structured three-year caregiver development pathway built around progressive learning phases. The program is divided into three tiers, each consisting of approximately 20–23 hours of training and roughly 20 role-specific courses tailored to build knowledge, caregiving skills, and professional growth.
Currently, 35 caregivers are enrolled in the program. Eight caregivers have successfully completed Phase 1 and are actively progressing through Phase 2, demonstrating continued engagement in advanced skill development and career advancement.
