FirstLight’s Jill Kemp promoted to Staff Development Senior Recruiter

We’re pleased to announce that Jill Kemp has been promoted to Staff Development Senior Recruiter.

For over four years, Jill has been serving as the first voice of the professional caregivers looking to join our team. She has screened hundreds and hundreds of caregivers, using her friendly, upbeat, demeanor to connect with each person over the phone and assess their suitability for our culture of care at FirstLight Home Care. Last year, FirstLight Home Care of West Suburban Boston hired less than 5 percent of all applicants for the position of Caregiver. The challenging job of identifying the extraordinary Caregivers who we select to provide the highest quality of care for our clients, starts with Jill.

Jill’s new role expands her staff development responsibilities to include more oversight of new projects and driving the design and implementation of innovative recruitment and retention strategies. Thanks to Jill’s creativity and commitment to high standards, we are confident that FirstLight Home Care of West Suburban Boston will continue to identify, attract and retain, the top professional caregivers in the Boston area.

Jill recently completed her fourth year on FirstLight’s Staff Development team. After graduating from Lesley University with her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Jill began her teaching career in Quincy Public Schools in grades Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. During this time, she strengthened her skills for helping and teaching young children and working very closely with their families in the community. After many years working with children in the school setting, Jill made a career change and began her journey at Encompass Health Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital where she gained a new love for working with adults and the geriatric community. She worked very closely with the nursing staff and patients which helped her learn what it takes to find caregivers who have empathy, kindness, and a passion for helping others. This has allowed her to understand what it takes to find caregivers who have the highest of skills, qualities, and talent for FirstLight.
